"Jonathan and his guys did excellent work for me in replacing my boiler. I had submitted several bids to different contractors and Jonathan gave me the best price. The guys that came to my house to install my new boiler and replace my old boiler were very professional and clean. I had two problems (a water leak and cold room) since the boiler was installed. I called Jonathan recently and he sent his guy right over and fixed both problems. I highly recommend his company. I would definitely use them again."

"Anji recommended four plumbers. Cassidy was the first to respond on Friday afternoon. One other plumber responded but I could not understand his heavy accent, and he asked me if I wanted him to replace the whole burner assembly. That made no sense to me and I questioned him about it. Suddenly he became "too busy" and hung up the phone. Another plumber didn't respond until Monday morning. Too late. The fourth plumber never responded at all. Cassidy asked if it was an emergency or could wait until Monday. I said Monday. and asked what time? I did not get an answer on Friday. Around 8:30P I called and got an answering service which told me that I wouldn't get a response until Monday because their office closed at 8:00P. I had asked about what time on Monday before 6:00P George arrived Monday morning. He was friendly. He knew what he was doing. He replaced the thermocouple. All work was done neatly and professionally. We have hot water again. I'd use Cassidy again."

"Not well as it should have, either with their organization or with the installations. Poor communications within their company meant they sent a crew here for a few hours not knowing what to do or equipped to do it. Had to reschedule for another date. Maybe they are fine with new fixtures in new homes, but we have an older house (1900) and wanted to install older fixtures to match. A few of these fixtures needed some basic, easy to obtain parts. One of the electricians in the crew knew what he was doing, but another was clearly uncomfortable with the older fixtures and ultimately unable to install two of them. They did honor their price quote, and show up on the date(s) they said, albeit a little late, and most of their work was OK. But communications with the company and some of the work did not inspire confidence."

"I had a few people & companies come to my home to give me estimates. However, one thing stood apart from all these companies. Dave from affordable heating & cooling was absolutely phenomenal and professional. His attention to detail and years of experience are rarely unmatched. As well as his very competitive prices. Throughout the process he made me feel comfortable, educated me, and did not try to pressure me into choosing him over others. This is a top notch person to deal with and I would advise anyone to give him an opportunity to earn your business as he did with mine. The work was finally done professionally and I couldn't be happier. Thank you Dave, you just earned a customer for life"

"Spencer and his crew totally transformed my stinky, wet, horrible crawlspace into a fully sealed, dry, clean area of my house. It was one place I absolutly hated to go in, and now it is a joy to be able to access it anytime I need to! Do not hesitate to call Global Dwelling to fix up the problem areas of your house, I'm glad I did!!"

You can see that we've insulated and air sealed the rim joists in this picture in addition to the B2B paneling.
You can see the main attic ducts have been spray foamed in this photo. This keeps the warm air warm as it travels through your cold attic in the winter time.

"Juan was very professional and did a great job. He took his time and made sure everything was working perfectly and cleaned up the area. We had some issues finding some parts, but he spent time looking for them. He is honest and once he gives you a price, he wont add or change it. I would highly recommend Juan for al your AC needs. Thank you. Frank"

"He came and replaced a part that did not fix it. Took part with him. He came back and charged me another almost $300 for a new sump pump which I should have gotten the first time he came. I feel I paid twice. Too much money."

"Bob and the Modern Remodeling team did a great job in the renovation of a townhouse I had recently purchased that was in disrepair. They gutted the kitchen and bathrooms, laid new flooring in every room (bathrooms (tile), kitchen (tile), living areas (hardwood), and bedrooms (carpet)), installed all new cabinets, lighting, and appliances in the kitchen. They were responsive and easy to work with, and I would use them again for future projects!"

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Beacon, NY

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
