"When the furnace blower motor failed, I emailed and called Shawn, the owner late on Sunday night. I received a follow-up call from Shawn early the following Monday, and a visit later that day.
They diagnosed the failed blower motor and provided us with a range of options and associated costs (repair, replace with different units) that were very competitive.
We wanted to go with a replacement furnace and air conditioner that Porterhouse was not a dealer for, however they were interested enough in our business to become a dealer for the furnace and A/C manufacturer that we wanted (hint: see Consumer Reports for reliability ratings). Additionally, we wanted a 10 year labor warranty to match the manufacturer's equipment warranty, something that Porterhouse typically did not offer with the equipment that they sold.
Shawn was very willing to match the manufacturer's warranty with a labor warranty of 10 years and handled filing the warranty paperwork with the manufacturer. Additionally,. their quote was very competitive for the system that we wanted.
We were very impressed with their responsiveness, genuine interest in the feelings (and wallet) of the customer and significant flexibility in meeting our needs (scheduling around work, specific equipment desired, etc.).
We needed to do a bit of chasing to get some duct work completely sealed and a furnace filter installed, however they put in a long day to complete the installation, cleaned-up the basement, garage staging area and were very protective our our carpeting, floors, and home in general). Additionally, they made sure to completely test everything, and did not leave until the house began to cool significantly (summer replacement of furnace and A/C).
We are happy with their work, will use them to continue servicing our furnace and A/C, and would recommend  Porterhouse.
