"Very unsatisfied when calling for service it went to answering service, was told someone would call back shortly, after 2 hours I called back, got the answering service, was told someone would call back and did get a call 20 minutes later. Told them I was having problems with water heater only having warm water. Water heater was 12 years old and serviceman said lower element burned out and expansion tank was not working. Quoted $2000 to repair. Didn't know how long heater would last and suggested new one. I agreed. Water runs through geothermal furnace. Took about 5 hours to change out because he had to wait for someone to bring new heater. He forgot to close something before turning water back on and got water on the floor. 2 days later I went to basement to get serial number from heater and there was water all over the floor. No reason to touch geothermal unit. Drain from humidifier was disconnected. Took couple of days to talk to anyone from company. "

"Alex Lockstead of Eaton Inspections came highly recommended from a family friend and proved to be the best professional decision we made in our home buying process. Alex is extremely responsive and easy to work with, but more importantly he is incredibly meticulous and skilled at his craft. The quality, thoroughness, and detail of his inspection and corresponding documentation was absolutely astounding. We inspected two different homes with Alex, and both realtors commented to us how markedly better Alex's work and process was than others they regularly work with in their careers. The peace of mind afforded with Alex is worth every cent. He saved us from buying what would have been a financial nightmare of a home. When we found our second home during the Covid pandemic, we knew we wanted no one but Alex to inspect it, and literally wrote our inspection period terms around his schedule. Alex worked with us to safely inspect it and was extremely respectful and sensitive of the homeowner's safety and comfort. Alex delivered his impeccably detailed report and made time to host a debrief call and was available with follow up calls and texts as needed to help us assess our home. You can't put a price on having someone you can trust as you make the biggest financial decision of your life, but you can choose Alex at Eaton Inspections and that is pretty darn close!"

"Doug, Jason, and Ari did a great job on my box gutter cleaning and repair. They were very curtious, kept me informed, and did exactly what I had asked them to do. Great job, guys! I wanted my gutters cleaned out by hand vs. using a blower because our metal roof is painted and a blower blows the paint off. Not many companies want to do this, but Deer Park stepped up to the plate and did an excellent job!"

"In 2024, I had new double-pane vinyl windows installed by LEI. Since then, I?ve dealt with constant air infiltration, poor insulation, and excessive outside noise. These were problems I never had with my old windows. I can now hear crickets, conversations, and even a grain bin fan three miles away, with the windows completely shut. I?ve raised these concerns multiple times. Their technician has visited on three separate occasions for bug issues, a broken window pane, and a window with broken locks. Each time, I clearly explained my concerns about air leaks and sound. Nothing was ever addressed. LEI claims to offer "excellent warranty coverage," yet it took them over 8 months just to fix the window with broken locks. That alone speaks volumes about how seriously they handle post-install issues. The caulking around the windows is already yellowing and discoloring. This kind of deterioration shouldn?t happen within a year and suggests low-quality materials or improper installation."

"They are a really good company. When you call for an appointment they are very good to meet my schedule. I have had a few questions about our new system, the office staff works to make sure my question is answered. Chris installed our new heatpump system about 5 years ago, and he continues to do the regular maintenance on it. He does a great job. He calls when he is on his way. He does a very thorough job making sure our system stays running properly. He is also just an all around really nice guy."

"Great work - Sustainergy came out and gave me a bunch of different options for services around my attic, insulation, ventilation and encapsulation. They were all super knowledgable and even pointed me in a couple of different directions for other house projects. It didn't take long to approve a quote, get on the schedule and get everything done. Would definitely use their services again."

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Burlington, KY

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
