My mother has a new air conditioning unit (similar to heat pump) that was installed by another company. Outside temperature yesterday was 96 degrees and the unit stopped working yesterday around noon. By the evening time, the house was 86 degrees which is dangerous for her as she is in her late 80's and homebound. I called the company who installed the unit and was told that it would be 3 weeks before they could come out even though the unit is still under their warranty. (Oddly enough that company also has "A" rating through Angie's List but I'm puzzled how that's possible.) The service coordinator was terse and said they only did "first come, first serve" which I understand when dealing with most of us. However there are times when priorities are needed.

I found Aire Serv on Angie's List. From the beginning of the call the experience was positive and very helpful. She acknowledged that home bound and elderly people needed to have a quicker response. She agreed to try to get someone out the next day and would try to get someone there today so would call me with more information ASAP. Meanwhile my husband attempted to problem solve the issue and fortunately managed to fix it. That is the only reason that Aire Serv did not do work for us. I will absolutely use Aire Serv the next time we need anything and highly recommen

They contacted the company where we had purchased our previous heat pump, and were able to get a new heat pump for us,  The furnace was installed along with the new heat pump.  This entire process was done promptly. "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
