"I am extremely pleased with Suncoast and would strongly recommend them for blown-in insulation. We first called Duke energy for an energy checkup. As a result, Duke paid $100 of the insulation cost reducing our share to $400 for 1000 SF of insulation. (Duke has a contractual agreement with Suncoast.) The representatives arrived on time, worked highly efficiently, and we're done in about 40 minutes. I looked in the attic before they left and noted the height of insulation was approximately 13-15 inches above the 2x4s- much higher than the 11-13 or so I was expecting. I discussed this with the team leader, Adrian (sp?), who told me he always takes the insulation up to beyond the prescribed level just to be sure coverage is adequate. (When your blowing it in rapidly and doing many customers a day, your not measuring each SF to get it accurate level-wise). Prior to the insulation installing, the sales rep, Leo McCartin came out and established measurements and provided a quote. I did ask how many customers took it up to the next r rating (42 or 44 I think). He said only one or two out of thousands. After the insulation was in place, I called to pay the bill and ask what at cost would have been to go to the next r level and it was about another $150. In retrospect, given the heat in this area, if I were to do it again I would spend the money, presuming I will live here for years and that insulation does eventually settle. Minor cost for LT payoff. It's now been a few months and we immediately noticed that the a/c has run less frequently and that our electric bill has dropped 10-20%. I would strongly recommend getting the Duke energy audit first, and using Suncoast. Tom <br />"
