"Some initial prep information was a bit lacking in detail, which caused rescheduling of work, but went well after that. Insulated crawlspace that was severely lacking insulation from cheap & crappy house builder (HH Hunt). Foam insulation on sides/walls & certain posts/beams, 10 mil drymat on ground, sealed off vents. Workers friendly & professional. Bit pricey but noticeable improvement soon after finish...floors were not cold in certain areas as before."
Unsealed porous foundation walls. Efflorescence has grown along the outside walls.
Plastic is laid out to protect the freshly pained walls and floor.
Open vents in the foundation walls allow outside air and moisture to infiltrate the crawl space, increasing the relative humidity and allowing mold spores to thrive inside.
Spray foam application in progress on warehouse walls.
The dirt floor is exposed, which will allow the moisture from the earth to rise uncontested into the crawl space, adding to the increase in relative humidity.

"I needed retrofit ductwork repair involving removing an old duct trunk line and reinstall a new one with insulation due to condensation problems the previous one was having. Fusion had the median of all the other contractors’ price points who I conferred with for completing the work. They also displayed the most confidence in being able to do the work to my satisfaction and rectify the poor craftsmanship that the original contractor exhibited. For the most part, the end result was acceptable, there was just some DIY work remaining which I had not anticipated. I acknowledge that retrofitting old flex lines and collars will afford some margin of error for exactness, but simple predesign calculations would have mitigated the problems observed post completion. Also, the insulation wasn’t complete as agreed upon, but I was able to install insulation for complete coverage of the whole duct on my own."

"JT Askew returned my phone call promptly and came to my house the same day to provide an estimate.  He returned the following day and repaired several small holes and dings in the drywall of our rental home.  He is professional and courteous.  I highly recommend him for any project; big or small. <br>"

"George Wright and the First Choice Pest Control team of Brayden Lenegar and Jonathan Bizub did a great job removing old insulation and installing a dehumidifier and new moisture barrier under our home. They have come back a few times to assure the job was done right. Electrician, John Waugh, wired the dehumidifier to our main breaker box to complete the work. All aspects of this service was professionally managed and completed. Thanks First Choice!"

"Outstanding job on crawl space - even other contractors have commented on it. Good job on sealing ducts. Not happy with humidifier performance or their reaction when I called. The humidifier does not even come close to maintaining a reasonable humidity level. When I called them they immediately asked for a service fee just to look at it. <br />"

"I contacted Applied Mechanical about a problem I was having with my 18 year old air conditioner. It is the upstairs zone in my house.  The tech (Mike) came out that day and determined I had a leak. Although they could have recharged the system (about $500) he said it could leak out very quickly and being that it was a very old system he recommended it be replaced. I agreed. I got 2 estimates. Steve, the owner, came out the next day and spent a lot of time going over the old system, taking pictures and making notes. He made some good  suggestions. Since the entire system (furnace, indoor coil, plenum as well as the outdoor unit) was very old and to obtain maximum efficiency and warranty he suggested replacing the entire system with a matched Trane system. They sell Trane units. My old unit was a Carrier but from experience I felt a Trane unit would be a better choice. Steve got back to me via email in a couple of days with a very detailed 9 page proposal. Impressive.  Everything was spelled out. All the pictures were there and details about the step-by-step process of how they would be replacing the units. He provided an option if I wanted to upgrade the unit. All model numbers and specific features were included. I appreciated that the first thing they do is put down floor covers to protect flooring. In contrast to Steve's proposal I received one other estimate from a Carrier dealer. It was a very short 1 page estimate with few details. Even though it was about $1,000 cheaper I wasn't sure what I would be getting.  After agreeing  with Applied Mechanical Steve ordered the system and we set up an appointment for install.  He said it would take 2 days to install.  Mike and Cory arrived early Thursday and by 2:30 Friday we were up and running. They did a terrific job. (They never complained about the oppressive temps up in the attic).  Kept me informed about what they were doing. Very neat and orderly. Readily answered any of my questions. Also, they installed a new thermostat and programmed it for me. Now we have a nice variable speed blower with a 2-stage gas furnace. And an icy cold air conditioner.  When they were done they checked each room for air flow and balance. They checked each vent for temperature. Very thorough. When they were done they cleaned up and it looked like they had never been there-except we were much cooler. Thanks guys! <br>In order to keep the warranty valid you have to have the unit serviced every 2 years. Steve explained that when they come out it is a very detailed and thorough tune-up-about 4 hours. I think that is a good service. Also, Steve honored the 5% off Angies list coupon.  <br>Finally, let me say that it is nice to deal with a company that tells you what they are going to do and when they are going to do it. And keeps their word. Also, there is no pressure to up-sell. No fancy add-ons or exotic "must haves".  Steve, Mike and Cory are skilled at what they do and enjoy doing it. When my downstairs unit goes down I know who to call."

"Great. The first day was removal of the old materials and cleanup. The second day they installed the new liner, a large dehumidifier, and sealed access (from rodents). The third day an electrician came to do what we needed for the power and to install a controller on the wall. The gentlemen who did the work were punctual and polite and left no mess. Note that there is no category for "crawl space work" so I selected what seems to be the closest option."
