"Some initial prep information was a bit lacking in detail, which caused rescheduling of work, but went well after that. Insulated crawlspace that was severely lacking insulation from cheap & crappy house builder (HH Hunt). Foam insulation on sides/walls & certain posts/beams, 10 mil drymat on ground, sealed off vents. Workers friendly & professional. Bit pricey but noticeable improvement soon after finish...floors were not cold in certain areas as before."
Unsealed porous foundation walls. Efflorescence has grown along the outside walls.
Plastic is laid out to protect the freshly pained walls and floor.
Open vents in the foundation walls allow outside air and moisture to infiltrate the crawl space, increasing the relative humidity and allowing mold spores to thrive inside.
Spray foam application in progress on warehouse walls.
The dirt floor is exposed, which will allow the moisture from the earth to rise uncontested into the crawl space, adding to the increase in relative humidity.

"The crew from Vance did a fantastic job. Showed up on-time, got right to work, and applied 1" of closed cell foam to all the walls and ceiling of my barn workshop. These guys are fast and really know their stuff! Great attention to detail, and made sure they hit every crevice to seal the building in preparation for converting it to a conditioned office space. Price was also very competitive. I'll definitely be contacting them again when it's time to redo my crawlspace on the main house."

"The job went great. They were able to give me an estimate a few days after I called, and complete work the following week. The only problem was that the installer did not bring enough insulation so it took two days to complete the job. During the second day, the installer discovered a water leak under my house -- he found it long before I would have, so I was able to get a plumber to repair sooner rather than later. <br />"

"The quoted price was absolutely excellent. Three companies were contacted, two of which responded with a bid. Weatherseal was the fastest responder. A second company also responded, but the bid was substantially higher, largely because of the vapor barrier which was an add-on estimate of $175 in itself.  Oddly the estimator for the third company was here for about 1-1/4 hours also looking at our attic (as the other two did), and though he seemed very thorough and prompt he never submitted a bid. He certainly had my contact information. <br /> The garage was more difficult to insulate compared to a conventional garage because the wooden studs were on top of a 4 foot knee wall. Thus, tall ladders were required to install the fiberglass batts. The root and one sidewall were already insulated. This job required insulating the wall with the garage door, another wall with water treatment tanks and plumbing next to the wall, plus wires stapled over the studs as well as some wires snaked through the studs. Though installing the insulation was not so difficult, installation of the vapor barrier was much more time consuming. Unlike another bid, the vapor barrier was a quality material compared to the low-quality paper alternative which might have been a waste of money . <br /> The bid price was excellent, though I think the estimator underestimated the amount of time required to complete the job. It probably took about twice as long as expected. There were some problems. The first was that the 2-man crew started stapling the fiber glass batts to the interior edge of the studs (which is how it is typically done) but the work order specified that the fiberglass backing be face-stapled to the studs. I caught this right away, and showed the crew how it should be done (better insulation this way, but less convenient for the dry-waller). With this type of installation the dry-waller can not glue the sheetrock to the studs because they are now behind the vapor barrier, but this type of installation gives a better R-value when face stapled compared to inner-edge stapled.. <br /> The vapor barrier was composed of quality material; however, there was a problem with the installation. When the workers were done installing the vapor barrier,  after they left,  I discovered that they had covered the plumbing and valves for the on-demand water heater, thus making the valves inaccessible. So I cut and re-taped the barrier with white duct-tape in such a way to expose the plumbing. Before the workers  left, I discovered that they covered the controller for the on-demand hot water heater, and when I showed them that it needed to be exposed one of workers took a utility knife across the face of the controller to expose the controller. I stopped this just in time in order to prevent possible damage to the controller. Also half of one electrical plate was covered with the vapor barrier. I fixed this myself afterwards, by cutting and sealing with white duct-tape. Also a large wire and propane pipeline was covered over because these were installed over the face of the studs, not between them. I didn't attempt to uncover these from beneath the vapor barrier, but I took a felt marker and marked the path so that the dry-waller would be aware of the location of the wire and metal tubing. Probably that section will not be covered by drywall anyway since it is in an area that won't be finished off, but I marked their location just in case anyone works in that area, <br /> I think the crew was courteous and hardworking, but evidently new and not as experienced as they should be. <br /> Would I use Weatherseal again? The answer is yes, with two caveats: (1) if the price is excellent price, and (2)  if I were sure to I monitor their work. I have some construction experience having built my own house years ago. I often don't always go with the lowest bidder. Regardless of who I hire for any type of job, I tend to monitor the progress of work to make sure that no mistakes are made, or at least minimzed - whether it is insulation or any other type of work. <br />"

"I hired Ramon and his team to do my attic insulation. He was flexible with scheduling over two days as we needed to replace ductwork for our HVAC in the attic. His prices were WAY better than anyone in Northern Virginia. He was able to come out in two days to remove all the old and dirty insulation that was thirty years old. The attic was cleaned and air gaps sealed. He came back promptly when we were for the insulation installation. Not only did they do a great job at sealing but they did a great job at spraying 18 inches of R49 Fiberglass. They were professional, timely, and cleaned up after themselves. They went above and beyond my expectations. I am so happy and would gladly recommend these guys for anyone. Five stars!!!"

"Hunter A. provided excellent service. Woodfin sales agents are thorough, kind, real and to the point and ensure attention to detail and customer service is upheld. I was amazed how they texted me and let me know they were coming in ten which gave the fam heads up to mask up and have stuff ready. He arrived within ten minutes. Hunter had the decency to come with a mask and hear us out. Got straight to servicing this wretched oil burner and did quality work. He responded courteously to my various question without any BS and with the details he could. The burner is now cleaned and we can now confidently use it without breathing in noxious gases like we did last night. Oh, did I mention Woodfin got back to us the following morning of when we noticed how we were in trouble with the burner the night before?! This 179 dollar per item per year insurance-esque service Woodfin does is excellent and of great value. He even cleaned and did work on other items of the burner and gave me a feel of when things might need to be replaced. As of right now the product provides 20% off parts so I very well may follow through on a new motor if need be. Of course, there’s whether or not this maintenance and cleaning is lasting, but it sure seems like it in comparison to the sub-par people we once used who were more expensive. I’m confident I can reach out to Woodfin for future maintenances/services. I’m in need of a new heating and cooling system and HVAC work for this house too, so after I upgrade the electricity next month, I’m sure to consider Woodfin to do that too."

"The tech said nothing was wrong, but 2 weeks later it snowed and my house go all the way down to 48 degrees, so I had to call the emergency line to have someone come out and incurred an additional $600 to have someone fix it during the snow."

"From the first contact with Custom Home Improvement to the very last day they were very prompt and courteous. Keith met me at the property and gave me a great estimate with no pressure to upgrade or add anything on. I was the one that added the gutters and downspouts. The team arrived the day they said they would, did everything they said they would. I was a little concerned about car ruts in the yard, I wasn't sure why they pulled up into my yard but I called Doc and he had it all fixed immediately. Thanks for an awesome job! BTW, they give military discounts also! <br />"
