"I want to thank Arne and his crew from Houle Insulation Inc for the fantastic job they did on the removal and installation of insulation in my attic and basement rim joists. First off I got bids from at least 6 different vendors and all of those were rated high and were Xcel certified for rebates. One of them (I won’t name, but they specialize in “green” foam insulation) didn’t even inspect the attic area and just wrote down 2 prices, on company letterhead, one of the attic, and one for the basement rim joists for a whopping $9200 and said if I agreed right then, he’d knock off $1000. The other 5 were MUCH better and had similar quotes for the work to be done. Arne was by far the best one I had dealt with, and gave the most informative feedback on the work that needed to be done. Houle’s quote wasn’t the lowest, but after going over the other 2 that were in contention, Houle’s was the best. It took a few weeks to get on the schedule, but the day of the project they were here promptly and got right to work. I had insulation removed so a dumpster was delivered the day before and boy, did they need that. All insulation was removed from attic and basement rim joists. They took the time in advance to put down drop cloths and plastics to keep my home as clean as possible given the messiness of the job. The insulatanin and old chutes were removed, new larger and more in quantity were installed. The attic decking was air sealed and cellulose was blown in to get my R-value to 60. In basement the “pink” fiberglass was removed and it was foam sealed to R21. The previous insulation was “good” but I can’t believe how noticeable it has already been. During the last heat spell, the upstairs just radiated and maintained the heat so cooling naturally or with AC was a challenge and the temps on main level would be 5+degrees different. After Houle’s work, the upstairs no longer gets as hot and the temps are balanced and with AC on I can get the temps even to a degree, and it stays that way, don’t need to run the AC as often. I can’t wait to see how it will be when I have to run the furnace. In closing, there are at least 2 other companies in the Metro that I would consider to insulate my home, and even those 2 spoke highly of Houle Insulation Inc, and you will too if you need their service."

"Jason and crew did an outstanding job insulating our 1990 house. We had fiberglass insulation that had blown all to one side. Jason installed celulous which is much better. We had 11 pot lights not boxed in (which sent our warm air right into the attic) and a couple of chutes broken. Everything was repaired. We are amazed at the difference in the warmth and air quality of our whole house. They arrived early, went right to work and left everything like they weren't even here."

"Three people from Twin City Insulation arrived at my home just before 7 AM on the appointed day. One of the first things they did was carefully place clean tarps on the floors in any areas where they would be walking. The owner, Caleb See, and I discussed the work to be done and he relayed the information to his workers, including areas which needed to be sealed/insulated to prevent air leaks. The continuously running ventilation fan was to be installed in the master bathroom. Mr. See explained possible logistical problems that could be encountered in doing this (including installation in a vaulted ceiling). Across the hall from the master bathroom is a laundry room with an exhaust fan. Ultimately, we jointly chose this location for the fan. Mr. See carefully covered cabinetry in that room with plastic sheeting. He installed the fan and the other men worked in the attic, insulating the attic walls to R30 with fiberglass batts and house wrap, installing vent chutes and sealing all attic bypasses. Ceiling pot lights were also calked to prevent air leaks and a drop soffit/ceiling drop were insulated and sealed. Mr. See kept me informed about the progress and any problems encountered. He and his crew discovered exhaust fans from another bathroom and in the kitchen were only vented into the attic. Mr. See also discovered that the kitchen exhaust fan had been improperly installed and he corrected it. (I asked if they could do the additional work to correct these problems and gladly paid an additional $500 to install the new ducting and new roof vents for those fans.) The crew returned the following morning to complete the job. They did a great job cleaning up---carefully folding the tarps to contain any debris. (Mr. See told me they shake them out in the truck, so the debris isn't even left in the yard!) They vacuumed the garage floor and the throw rugs near the door and intended to vacuum the rest of the areas in the house, but I told them not to do it because I had more work scheduled to be done the following day and I would need to vacuum after that. I was very impressed by all members of the company: they were very professional,arrived promptly at the time they said they would (actually, they were a little early!), were respectful of my property, kept me well informed and did a nice job of cleaning up. I definitely would recommend using Twin City Insulation!"

"Our experience with Lewis Insulation exceeded our expectations, they are great people to work with - what does that mean? Prompt communication, answering questions, ease of scheduling and most importantly - they take pride in their work. We moved into our home a year ago, the insulation in the attic was only adequate so we decided to add more, in addition we had the rim joists in our unfinished basement sprayed with foam. Lewis's price was competitive, just slightly less than other highly rated companies. They were easy to schedule, the workers were prompt - pleasant people, they clean up after themselves and since we qualified for an energy rebate - they handled the paperwork with the utility company. After insulating, we had a radon system installed, when giving us an estimate the radon company owner asked who sprayed our rim joists as he thought they were very well done. What a compliment to Lewis! What really stands out about Lewis, is their customer service. As previously stated, we had a radon system installed after insulating, in that process they went through our rim joist into the garage disturbing the foam insulation. We called Lewis asking what product we could purchase from a big box store to repair what the radon people had disturbed, in addition we forgot to show them a 2 foot section that also needed foam when initially done in March. For such small areas we didn't expect them to come out, we just thought we'd buy the canned spray foam and do it ourselves. But no Brian wouldn't have it, he felt better if they would do it; so we worked out a time when they were in the area and could stop by - within a week the work was done. We were amazed at this level of customer service. We would not hesitate to use Lewis Insulation again, in fact we would forego the whole bidding process and just hire them - with their attention to detail, pride in their work and outstanding customer service, hiring them is a no-brainer. We highly recommend them - they are a gem."
