"Vince called me back within hours of my sending him a message through Angie's List.  Even though he does not list Montgomery County as one of his service areas, he was completely willing to help us out.  In my message, I had requested the work to be done onsite but Vince explained why having him pick up the generator and take it back to his shop to work on it would make more sense.  His charge for pick-up and delivery back to us was only $34.95.
When Vince came to pick up the generator, he was on time and was able to give me a ballpark cost for the work (which turned out to be very accurate).  He said that he could get it back to us in 3-4 days but I asked if he could do it faster as there was a snow storm predicted for the next day or so.  Vince agreed to a shorter time line and ultimately got the generator back to us within 1 day!  There ended up being no snow storm but we got our generator back in working condition - along with a booklet of care instructions, a copy of our invoice, and a service history form.  A few days later we received a hand-written Thank You card in appreciation of our business.  I can't imagine how the service could have been any better.  We will use Vince for any future small engine repairs/maintenance we have and highly recommend him and his services.

"The plan was great.  Of all the proposals I received for the work, the proposal form M J Home Services was the best.  They did use subcontractors for much of the work, but they, along with the M J Home Services employees, were all very courteous, professional, prompt, and respectful of my home.
Unfortunately, execution of the plan is where things fell apart.  The excessive rain we had this spring and summer presented many scheduling challenges as well as brought to light problems with the way the plan was executed.  The pump that M J Home Services installed wasn't up to the job and it died on day three of the May rain storm.  I replaced it with a larger capacity pump that fortunately I had on hand.  The discharge pipe failed to direct all the pump water away from the house.  M J Home Services returned to install a new discharge pipe in another location.  The newly poured driveway concrete wore away from the rain.  M J Home Services returned to replace it.
This job began in April and ended in July and throughout it all, the office team was excellent.  They work six days a week and responded to me via email and phone.  So even though I became frustrated with how long it was taking to get things to work correctly, I never felt abandoned.  I always felt that they would respond to my calls.

"although the fix was not covered by insurance, I did learn how to clean out the drain line myself and how to avoid future issues such as this. the person who was sent out was very professional and knew exactly what the problem was."

"They have made many repairs and replacements over the years.  We estimate we've saved $10,000 by having the warranty.  They really have improved their service a lot over the years we've used them.  They are really professional, now have an automated service line that routes us to the correct operator to help.  One example was when our furnace went out and is was zero degree.  Overall, we've been pleased and recommend them to others."
