He finished installing our storm door for our porch, even adjusting the door frame to make sure the door was secure and everything was straight. He also replaced a couple pieces of siding that were damaged, as well as repaired the door frame to our garage that had some rot. Looks like new again! My frustration was with the quality of the paint job to the new door. The person did an good job at smearing the paint - I can see that it was covered. However, I was assured that quality paint would be utilized. When the workman arrived and I mentioned that they were providing paint the response was "I think I have some in the truck". It was clear that paint had not been purchased for this specific job. The door shows gray metal (color of the new door) through the white paint. I've had several folks ask me if I was gonna paint that door. When I contacted Gary he told me it would be the same price to get this resolved (second coat of paint as the first coat.). I believe that $327 to paint double doors a second time because the first coat did not cover it is not a reasonable price. He did not bother to come take a look himself at the cost estimate or the finished product. Therefore I cancelled any remaining work and decided to seek an alternate provider to install the pet door and I probably will just paint the door myself. I included a picture of the paint job. Hopefully you can see the color variations."

"I had a couple of delays, and when the day to install came around there was an possible storm hanging around which delayed the start. There was a contractor? other roofer? I thought it was the the job foreman for Otto's but I think this guy was an independent contractor. I don't know except that he told me that Otto was not his boss. To make a long story short, I never ever saw Otto , he never showed his face on the job-site when I was there. I found that a little odd. it did rain for about five minutes on the first day and I was told that they would come back and finish the next day.They told initially that there was probably three sheets of sheathing that would need to be replaced. I could not be there that day as I had to work and I was a little concerned when they told me they found a "lot" of rotted wood. This was after I talked to my wife on the progress. I was not texted nor called to update me on these developments and they would now have to replace seven sheets of sheathing. When I saw them replace part of the roof the day that I was there I saw zero rotted wood. granted the part that was replaced was not as steep of a pitch and I did finally see some pictures. What really irked me is that no one took any wide angle shots of the area to really show me what needed to be replaced. The other thing is that Terry told me he had to replace a piece of sheathing on the back side by the chimney. I went up in the attic and looked and I saw a small patch where they took out my vent but I did not see any new sheathing in this area. This makes me concerned because how do I know how much they really replaced if this was not done. Otto does not have any free sheathing replacement, if you need it it is sixty dollars a sheet. Otto did give me a break by allowing me to buy my shearing and charging me thirty dollars labor per sheet. The thing that bothers me most is that there is sheathing missing where it was supposedly replaced and I have to pay $120.00 extra for two sheets. So it went from three sheets to seven...that to me is not even close. Otto's was fairly priced but If not for this sheathing fiasco I would be able to give Otto a good review...except that you will never see him except at the quote and to collect the money. I would probably choose a company that offers a a few sheets free instead."

"Summary:  Randy's team provided good service, and was quick to return and fix a problem (without any haggling or justifications) as well as perform additional work. This is the second time I have used R Harward construction, and I am happy with the results.  I will definitely continue to use them for my contractor needs in the future!

I purchased 4 new doors from Home Depot with the intention of replacing 3 bedroom doors and my master bathroom door. I also purchased a new, wall-mounted dog door. I asked Randy to install the doors for me since it involved removing door frames (not something I was comfortable trying on my own). The work was split into 2 visits:
First Visit - The team installed 2 of the doors, but Randy's team found that the bathroom door needed to be custom-ordered.  When they got ready to install the 4th door, both the crew and I thought that Home Depot had given me the incorrect door (a left handed when it needed to be right handed). Since I needed a bedroom door, I asked the team to install the left handed door on the outside of the frame. The team then switched to installing the dog door, which was successful except for the outside trim. Given that it was after five by the time they finished the dog door installation, the team promised to return the next week and complete the trim.
The next day while moving the remaining door to my shed, I realized that the door for the bathroom (which could not be installed because it was a custom size) was actually a right-handed door, and would correctly fit the master bedroom. I also noted that one of the installed doors was not actually shutting properly. I called Randy back, and he agreed that the team would come back and fix that door and finish the trim (all for no charge). The team would also install the right-handed door on the master bedroom, but there would be a labor charge. I was fine with this, since during the prior visit Randy's team only put up the left-handed door (on the outside frame) at my request. 
Second Visit - Randy's team arrived, quickly fixed the one door that would not close properly, installed the correct-right handed door on the bedroom, and installed trim on the outside of the dog door.
