"John came to our house and did a very thorough estimate. He not only measure the sq. footage, he also measured the underlayment/subfloors and took time to determine how to lay the floors against the stone fireplace. John's knowledge and expertise along with the very competitive estimate is why we chose to hire Floors To Go. John's team who installed the floors were prompt, very professional, clearly knew what they were doing. I was impressed by their work ethic and the house was clean and put back together when they were finished. The floors look amazing and we are very happy with the experience we had with Floors To Go."

"What a great group of hardworking men! I would recommend them to everyone for floor installations. They were on time and worked late, if they needed to. All were very professional and courteous. Our floors look fantastic!"

"We had a great experience with Christopher Carpet! The entire team was very friendly and professional, and their prices were very reasonable. We had looked at other flooring stores in the area but we were on a tight timeline and other places would take days in between calling back, measuring, getting an estimate to us, etc. Christopher Carpet was able to measure, get an estimate, and complete installation within 4 days from when I first contacted them. They did a great job and I appreciate them coming out after installation for a walk-through to ensure that we were happy with the results and answer any questions we had. We will definitely use them again for our future flooring needs and highly recommend them."

"Workers were pretty punctial. There was a small disagreement at first over what Michael White had told us and what actually was to be done.Everything worked out okayMichael White is a coowner and Trevor White is a coownwe who actually does the installing.Trevor works well with the crew but was on the phone a lot with other jobs being performed at the same time.Michael is much easier to talk with while Trevor is the work leader and not as easily to talk to.
..The work was carried out flawlessly, mostly by two workers while Trevor had to leave to handle issues on other jobs. The last couple of hours was a little rushed when the end of the day approached. The work was not as precise.
Overall the job was good. The crew had to return to repair some minor splits and cracks but handled well.
My wife actually cooked lunch for crew and supplied ice tea.Workers were very polite.
We hauled away the old carpet to save a couple hundred dollars.Crew stripped carpet and put in pile in yard to help.
Definitely would use again

FAQs for flooring install, repair, or refinish projects in Durham, NC

Removing tile flooring is a messy job. Expect flying chip fragments, mortar dust, and plenty of debris. Protect the space with plastic sheeting and drop cloths, and gear up with goggles and a respirator before you start prying. Pros keep the mess in check by attaching industrial vacuums to their tools, a setup that captures dust at the source and leaves the work zone far cleaner than a DIY approach.

Removing the old tile first is almost always the smarter play. If you tile over worn or uneven flooring, the new surface can crack, pop, or sit higher than the surrounding rooms. Fixing that later costs far more, especially if you need to re-level the floor. By demoing the tile now, you get a flat, solid subfloor and avoid surprise repairs down the road.
