"In January of this year, I had another company come and take out the old insulation and install the blown-in insulation. However, they botched up the job and we found ourselves constantly vacuuming the insulation that was coming down through all the recess lights. They hadn’t bothered to seal them correctly. They also created so much mess removing the old insulation; so we had to move to the basement while cleaning up the main floor from the messy job they did. That’s when Dan was called in to remove the blown in kind and install the blue jeans insulation. Dan suggested the blue jeans batts, knowing my chemical sensitivity. I hadn’t known such insulation existed and am grateful he did to minimize exposure to chemical. I was very impressed from the moment I saw the crew wearing a suit that was clearly designed to protect them. Dan’s crew discovered that the other insulation company had not properly removed all the old insulation company, and Dan could have charged me more for the extra removal work, but he stuck with the quoted price and did an amazing job. He made sure I would not be affected by the removal of the old blown-in insulation(have asthma). This time no dust was created while removing the blown-in insulation. I can’t say enough about Dan and his crew. I am so grateful to him and his crew. Dan is honest, professional, empathetic, and is meticulous about getting job done right. I would most highly recommend him to anyone for any type of insulation work."

"The experience with USA Insulation was very positive from start to finish. From the first call, the owner, Brian, spent time discussing my questions about the company’s services and insulation products. Mike came on time for an estimate and also helpfully discussed our questions about cutting into a plaster ceiling, what would happen if asbestos or animal intrusion were discovered, covering light fixtures and other initial install work, R-levels, insulation types, etc. After getting quotes from two other well-reviewed and professional companies, we had follow-up questions for Mike about foam insulation and caulk to seal potential cracks and openings, which he helpfully answered by email. Mike was always quick to say what extra services that we would not benefit from. USA Insulation does not install access hatches after cutting a ceiling access point, unlike the other two companies. However, USA Insulation gave the most competitive bid at the outset, and gave us confidence about how they would handle anything unexpected and stay close to their estimate. Because they are popular, they could not come to Northwest DC for a couple of weeks after we decided to move forward. They were worth the wait. The two-person crew that came arrived on time, were very professional tidy, and patiently walked through my questions confirming the products being used, R-levels, light covers, and letting me take a look and take photos at each work stage. They covered floors and furniture before starting, and took out debris and vacuumed once they finished. They also installed some insulation in our basement where we had done some plumbing work behind the walls. When I asked them to add as much R-19 insulation that could fit between the pipes and wall, they obliged and carefully tucked as much as they could – a process that included contorting into awkward spaces to insert the insulation. Because our attic’s roofline and beams prevented the team from installing 4 out of the 6 light covers, Brian reduced the final cost. It has been a week since the insulation was installed, and we are pleased with the comfort of our room temperature now. We are very pleased with USA Insulation’s services."

"Overall our experience with the staff at Advanced Green Home Solutions was excellent. Everyone from Kyle, Jen, Ricky, and the rest of the crew made our project go as smooth as you would hope a contracting experience would go. From Kyle's energy audit, to Jen's scheduling of the services, to the day that Ricky and the crew arrived to do the installation everything was extremely professional and efficient. The audit report we received detailed all the areas where our home had insulation issue. Additionally, the report laid out proposed solutions to those problems and included the costing savings and potential rebates available which made the decision process of deciding which options to go with very easy. On the day of the installation Ricky and crew arrived within the timeframe that Jen had scheduled them to and began work immediately laying down tarps and covering their work areas. After the crew was finished in a given area of the home they cleaned and vacuumed where they worked before moving on to the next area. Once everything was done that day Kyle came back and perform the final testing along with walking me through the next steps in the rebate process. Since the work was performed both me an my wife have noticed the overall comfort of our house has improved dramatically. Our home was built in the 80's with a heat pump HVAC system that struggles to keep the home comfortable. We have suffered through a few winters where the HVAC system could not keep the house warm at all and summers where the 2nd floor was unbearably hot along with high electric bills. I wanted to wait until we had a few cool nights before writing my review of the work done to see if the comfort in our house has improved based on the insulation work performed. I can attest that the work performed addressed all the areas were we had discomfort; the kitchen overtop the crawlspace, bedrooms that had overhangs, and basement. Our home is now able to keep the temperature we set it at with the heat pump only running sparingly instead of going non-stop. We are extremely pleased with the overall experience and services received from Advanced Green Home Solutions and have already recommended them to a few of our neighbors."

"It only took an hour and a half to blow in the fiberglass insulation. <br /> The only downside was the cleanup wash't very good, as we had to vacuum the hall and the stairs after they left. <br />"

"After checking Angie's List and with the Better Business Bureau, I called DeVere. Within just a few days Joel arrived at our door to look at what was needed and to give us an estimate. At no time did we feel pressure to sign on the dotted line. Joel was professional and obviously knows the business. Once we received Devere's insurance certificate we scheduled the work. Armando and a helper arrived in their work truck and proceeded to rip out all the old insulation and replace it with the new materials they had brought. It was a horribly messy job getting rid of the old insulation but the crew did it without complaint. Once they were done not a trace of material was left behind. The new insulation not only looks great but it does a good job of keepint the bathroom much warmer than it has in the past. Armando and his helper also did a terrific job wrapping the pipes. Neighbors have experienced burst water pipes this winter due to the bitter temperatures and I have DeVere's crew to thank for not having to worry about ours. We could not be happier and just wanted to say thank you."

"From the very first call to schedule the estimate through installation, this was the smoothest, most trouble-free, angst-free home project I've ever experienced. James is responsive, honest, hard working and friendly. He listened to my criteria for windows, made a recommendation and wrote up an estimate. He did not try to push me into a more expensive window than I needed. He gave me all the information on low/medium/high quality/price and let me make my own decision. I told him that my policy is to get 3 estimates and he was very encouraging of that practice. This was in no way a "hard sell". He genuinely wanted me to do the best thing I could do for ME - not for him. (how often does THAT happen?!) The estimates were so close in price that the difference was immaterial. I decided to hire him for the job primarily because of the positive impression he made (there was really no contest). I read about the windows he recommended and the company has an excellent reputation and sells quality products. He came over (and was prompt) and we signed the contract. He called when the windows came in and scheduled installation. He and his helper showed up exactly on time. The windows are MUCH better quality than the old ones. Both new windows were in the bedroom. Since my major goal with the new windows was noise reduction, I opted for a triple paned, coated window on the side with my noisy neighbors and a standard double paned model for the other side. They got to work right away. They were very respectful of my home and of me. A few hours later, they were done! Clean-up was excellent as well. It does my soul good to know such honest and hardworking people are out there. I recommend James heartily."

"We had Energy Efficiency Experts do an energy audit on our town home in DC. Pascale was friendly, professional, and her audit report provided a thorough description of steps we could take to improve both the efficiency and comfort of our home. The audit fee was lower than the competition as I recall. We haven't yet moved forward with doing the recommend insulation/air sealing, but he price quoted for the work seemed totally reasonable to me. If / when we finally get around to following Pascale's advice, we'll almost certainly hire her to do the work."

"I hired Ramon and his team to do my attic insulation. He was flexible with scheduling over two days as we needed to replace ductwork for our HVAC in the attic. His prices were WAY better than anyone in Northern Virginia. He was able to come out in two days to remove all the old and dirty insulation that was thirty years old. The attic was cleaned and air gaps sealed. He came back promptly when we were for the insulation installation. Not only did they do a great job at sealing but they did a great job at spraying 18 inches of R49 Fiberglass. They were professional, timely, and cleaned up after themselves. They went above and beyond my expectations. I am so happy and would gladly recommend these guys for anyone. Five stars!!!"
