"Excellent customer service. Garrick was prompt, personable and very knowledgeable. We had a complicated issue with our air-conditioner which he took a lot of time to resolve. His expertise saved us a lot of money on an issue others may not have tackled. Highly, highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs."

"I have used this provider for a variety of services and they have always showed up on time & performed the services as requested. Each time they have been very straight forward as to what repairs(if any) are necessary and what the cost would be.  I have recommended Smedley to neighbors, friends, & coworkers and no one has been disappointed.  I will continue to hire them for all of my heating and plumbing issues!

"I own a flower shop in South Jordan, and my water heater broke and leaked all weekend. Jeff with Pond's came in and looked at it on Monday, gave me a quote, and had it fixed by Thursday. Having warm water is important for my business, and even though I knew they were so busy, he made the repair happen as quickly as possible. He was honest about cost, my options, and timing. I would highly recommend Pond's Plumbing!

"AC system failed during a recent heat wave. I had 2 separate companies look at my system and inform me that I needed to replace both the inside and outside units due to a blown compressor, despite my AC system only being 3 years old. Not happy with the estimates, I called Larkin to get a 3rd opinion. Larkin provided me with some direction over the phone to try first in an effort to avoid the dispatch fee. I called back when that didn't work and Ryan came out that evening. After a thorough diagnostic look into my system, it was determined that I needed a new outside system. Price quoted was half of what I had previously received. They were over the following day and did another comprehensive assessment to ensure that a new system was in fact required. The outdoor system was installed and works great. I highly recommend Larking Heating & Cooling."

"Not well. Here is a letter I sent after the work was completed followed by their reply. As you will see, they did refund to cost of the unnecessary part and installation with an apology. This, however, should never have happened. 10/5/2016 To Management: I am writing with regards to a breach in the honesty and integrity of your company and its technicians. My wife and I are deeply troubled about this, especially because we found you on Angie’s List and, thereby assumed that we had hired a highly reputable contractor to install our water heater. As is evident on the invoice, attached, the installation occurred on Monday, October 3, 2016, at our residence. To be specific, you technician waited until the end of the installation to inform us that our water pressure was too high and if left at 90 psi, the manufacturer’s warrantee on the unit would be void, and that we would need a pressure regulator valve to keep the warrantee. Upon questioning, he stated that while 90 psi was not particularly dangerous, the water pressure goes up at night and that was why we need the pressure regulator. Further, he explained that he could have measured the pressure on the old heater and told us up front but that he was “by the office” to wait until the end of the installation to reveal such information to customers, presumably to scare them into agreeing to purchasing the regulator. While we find the practice of waiting until the end of the installation to tell customers like ourselves that an expensive part was now needed in order to maintain the warrantee to be highly unethical in itself, we are especially aggrieved to learn that we were lied to on two counts. I called the manufacturer, Rheem, who’s representative, after I explained the incident as I describe it herein, informed me that no such stipulation exists and that as long as a water heater expansion tank was installed (it was) and that it was properly set (we hope so), the warrantee would be in force. The representative advised me to call another plumber who works in Salt Lake City to double check on details, and so I did. He was duly appalled and further informed me of the second lie. Contrary to the statement made by your technician, in fact, the city turns down the water pressure at night. Yesterday, I received a message from Angie’s List, asking for my evaluation of the installation and your company. Before I reply to it, I would like to give you the opportunity to apologize and give us a full refund on the cost of the pressure regulator and its installation. We look forward to your speedy reply. Sincerely, ___________________ 10/11/2016 Mr. xxxxx This is to notify you that your refund of $340 was credited back to your Visa card ending in 1229. Attached, please find a copy of your credit receipt. We apologize that you were not 100% satisfied with our company and hope that in the future that you will give us another chance to prove that we strive for 110% customer satisfaction at all times. We appreciate your contacting our office. The information in your email has been given to our Service Manager for training purposes. "It went great...we've used Michael many times and called him to look at the Swamp Cooler motor because I thought it was shot ...would only work on low...he came over and said it's probably just the fan / pump / cool rotary switch inside the house that controls the pump.....turns out he was right.  Turned a $200+ job into a $55.00 job and a nice cool house.  We always call Michael when things don't work right!

FAQs for swamp cooler service or repair projects in Farmington, UT

A well-maintained swamp cooler can last between 10 and 15 years. Its longevity depends on usage frequency, water quality, and proper care. Regular maintenance, like winterization and protective measures, can preserve your system's efficiency and prevent premature breakdowns, ensuring reliable cooling performance over its lifespan. Hiring a professional to take care of any repairs over your swamp cooler’s lifespan will ensure it’s restored to proper functioning and can help it last longer.

You should consider replacing your swamp cooler if it shows signs of severe corrosion, inadequate maintenance, advanced age, restricted airflow, or ongoing leaks. When repair costs and performance inefficiencies make restoration impractical, replacement may be the best option. Evaluating these issues with a professional ensures you choose the most effective solution, preserving comfort and cost efficiency while avoiding further deterioration of the system.
