"For specific projects there was no choice for emergency or burst pipes and that's what we had. We had a pipe burst in our garage, and it was flooding the garage. We had to call the non emergency dispatch to see if we could get help turning off the main water valve; it was frozen. The dispatch told us that there were approximately 10,000 people without water due to bursting pipes. We had contacted them because we couldn't get the main shut-off valve off due to it being frozen, and someone from the city water came to our rescue as well. Considering our garage was flooding. We had called 6 plumbers and got all the same answer; it would be Monday or Tuesday before they could get to us. Totally understood their responses. Fortunately for us, Ryan, from Ryan Parker Plumbing LLC, contacted us later that evening, and he was able to fit us in after all. He came out in that freezing rain and showed my husband that we could have water in the house and just turn off the area that was damaged. Then, he proceeded to fix the pipe (it was in our garage in the wall). Didn't take him long, thank goodness! He came back the next day to make sure it was all fixed and working properly. Ryan is a gem, and I now have him in my phone for future needs! I would recommend Ryan Parker Plumbing to anyone!"

"The problem started with my washing machine drainpipe backing up. Mick snaked it, but results weren't great. He looked under the house and found that the primary drainpipe of my '49 house was smaller than current code, and that it had rusted at a connection and had been tarred to mitigate that problem, which would've been before I bought the house in '03. I decided to upgrade the pipe regardless of whether that would ultimately fix the drainage issue as it just sounded like a wise thing to do. Mick flat out stated that if that didn't do the trick, I'd need to get another plumber in to track down the clog (camera work, probably to the city main). I went for it. He did the work as scheduled, was very friendly, cleaned up very well after himself, and the job worked—everything's draining perfectly now. The pipe he removed was a horror show—it was completely filled with solid gunk. No wonder the snake had little effect. And I'm now confident that the pipe will perform and not fail, which would cause a lot of problems. I didn't grade Mick on price as I got no competitive bids, so I have no idea if his pricing and job time were reasonable for the work performed. "

"We went to the NW Natural showroom to look at and learn about gas fireplace inserts.  They had a good selection of models and very informative staff.  We worked with Matthew Lansdon and chose a Quadrafire model with a bronze surround and firescreen front.  Matthew referred us to an installer, All Fuel Installation and Service.  The installation was done very quickly and efficiently.  NW Natural and the installer both assisted us with obtaining energy rebates.  We are very pleased with both the looks and functionality of the insert. <br />"

"Dutch arrived early for the appointment and completed the work quickly. We just bought the house and had questions about the furnace, which Dutch was happy to answer. We had a coupon for their Spring Furnace Tune-up special, priced at $140, so were surprised when the bill only came to $99. The woman at the office explained that special pricing was for oil furnaces, and as our gas furnace was simpler to service, they only charged for the actual time and labor. You gotta love that attitude in a service provider!  <br /> The recommendation for Mr. Nash came from our Realtor, and we are very happy to have found a friendly family business providing quality service at reasonable prices. We were so happy, in fact, that we had them back the next day to move the thermostat in the new house to a better location. Again, they were prompt and professional, and did a great job.  <br /> NOTE: Spring time is their slow season, so if you've been thinking about having services on your place, call them now--you'll get a fantastic response time! <br /> We will absolutely be using them again!! <br />"

"C.H. responded very quick. I had an emergency to correct a copper pipe that was leaking in my attic down my sheetrock and interior wall. Their professional rep stopped the leak by replacing a part that appeared to burst due to cold temps. It was Christmas eve afternoon and the most important thing I wanted was to stop the leak. I now know that I want to change/re-route some plumbing to prevent any future incidents/damage and will reschedule for a more complete job. This is also the reason I didn't provide he cost of my project and will do when the job is completd. I will follow-up w/my review after the work is finished. Ryan was their technician and he showed up on time, introduced himself and asked me to go over what needed to be done to confirm what my original request was. Since it was Xmas eve, I wanted him to go on to his next call so that he could be with his family. My leak was fixed/stopped, the rest can wait til we can reschedule. I have no reservations to recommend C.H. Kruse Plumbing!!! <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Forest Grove, OR

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
