"I would highly recommend Martin. He did an inspection on a mobile home we are purchasing. He was extremely helpful and informative and taught us stuff we didn't know about a mobile home."

"Mike and the whole team at Green Factor Insulation were great to work with. I'm currently working on building a tiny home on wheels, and of all the various contractors and companies that I've spoken to and worked with for sourcing materials and having services completed, Mike and the team at Green Factor have hands down been the best to work with. Their costs were very competitive; their quoting process was easy, informative, and transparent; Mike had excellent communication skills; and he went above and beyond to make sure that I was going to be happy with the end product. The day of the install, Mike, Matt, and Eli showed up promptly, they were great to interact with (it's apparent that they have a great group who enjoy their jobs), they took the time to answer all of my questions, and they did a great job installing the closed-cell insulation. My home was clean and tidy when they left, and I can't be happier with the end product. I'm really glad that I went with Green Factor, and I'm happy to add mine among so many other great reviews. If you're looking for a quality installer for insulation, definitely give the folks at Green Factor a call up. I'm really happy that I did."

"While having my siding removed and replaced, decided to insulate the exterior walls. They coordinated with the painter and checked the weather for when the project could be done. Also, the estimate was given several months in advance and was still honored once the project got going. They needed to come out twice to install the insulation because the siding took time to come off the house, but they were more than willing to work with the painter's schedule to make sure things got done in a timely fashion. Friendly folks who take time to answer questions and did excellent work getting the house insulated and now operating efficiently."

"

We had just returned home from vacation where we had been riding our motorcycle in the heat for pass two days so you can imagine how tired and hot we were when we finally got off the bike and came into the house..
We hadn't turned our air on yet this year but last year had to have someone called Tim over twice to replace a capacitor and the second time to fix his screw ups so we thought just in case we would not want to turn the air on and not be here to watch it.. Just as we thought when we flipped the switch tonight, the A/C did not work.. The house was a whopping 93 degrees... and the A/C was blow hot air, actually took the house up another 2 .degrees before we realized it.. We were only listening to make sure the fans were running because problems in the past were they weren't...
I called Bob at 7pm - 730pm on Sunday and he said he would have his tech over tonight, his tech called me at 8pm said he had just left his appointment and was headed over to see what he could do to get us up and running.. He was here within a few minutes, came to door took his shoes off before coming in and asked to see the thermostat and turned in on went out and looked at unit and within a few minutes he knew what was wrong.. He found the reverse valve unplugged.. He had us up and running PDQ..
The tech was very professional!! Would give him an A+..
He had not had a good day yet he was very nice and polite to us.. We would use him again..
(Tech had been stung by a wasp earlier and since allergic his face had swollen.. That was reason for bad day)

"I had 2 pieces of fascia blown off in a wind storm.  I called several companies to get estimates, but every company I called either told me they were too busy, the job was too small or they just did not call me back.  I called Morning Star on Wednesday afternoon and received a call back within the hour.  I explained what I needed (I originally thought it was siding) and Melissa asked if I could send her a picture.  I sent a picture and within 5 minutes she called me back, told me exactly what it was, and told me how many feet I would need.  She also explained that they guys were very busy, but she thought they could fit me in sometime in the next week as the crew would be in the area.  Friday she came by my house to do a color match and the guys showed up on Saturday to replace the pieces (after she texted me and asked if that was OK).  They did an excellent job and were done in about an hour and a half, including clean up.  It looks fabulous and the color matches perfectly.  I can't say enough good things about her and this company.  She was very responsive and even game me pointers about caulking some pieces in the siding where there were gaps.  I will definitely use them in the future as we have some doors that need to be replaced.

"Fantastic job. Seamus Donohue, the owner, came to view our room, gave us a price, and thoroughly explained the system. Installation took one day. Now we feel protected every time there's lightning -- which is often in North Texas. Seamus will come periodically to check the system over a period of time. Strong recommendation about the fine service and result. Everyone in the area should get this protection for their home and family."

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Fort Leavenworth, KS

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
