"We moved into our house in the winter and found out that the 70 year old insulation was quite deteriorated and moldy in the fall. We decided to have the old insulation removed so that we could cut down on heating bills and get rid of the smell. I contacted several companies and interacted with Joe from Good Life as the salesperson. He was kind enough to come to our house twice as the scope of the project changed. Both times, he drafted the proposal right at the end of the visit. His professionalism and the quoted price convinced us to go with Good Life Energy Savers. On day 1, the first crew came to remove the old insulation from the attic and used open cell spray foam to insulate the basement rim joists. On day 2, a second crew came to apply blown-in fiberglass insulation in the attic. Please note that the material they use is not irritant at all. Both crews worked really hard and cleaned up very well after they were done. I was especially impressed with the job 1st crew did to remove the old insulation from the slopes on a cathedral ceiling. My only minor complaint is regarding the patch in the ceiling at the end of the job. The guys used paper tape and there were bubbles all around. I guess they were very tired at the end of the day. Initially, I was planning to paint the room myself to cover the patch. But after removing the paper tape (due to bubbles) and using fiber mesh tape and joint compound, I figured I wouldn't be able to smooth the edges of the patch perfectly and hired a professional. Overall, it is a great company that provides quality job at a reasonable price. With the new insulation, the furnace runs much less frequently and I am pretty sure the job will pay for itself very in a few years."

In deterring the scope of the project, they listened to all our concerns, and devised a comprehensive plan to meet all our needs, not just simply an insulation replacement. The actual work crew was very friendly and respectful of our house and property. We alway got notice when they would arrive and were always on time. They kept us informed every step of the way with pictures of their progress. They let us know early on of one potential electrical issue with recessed lighting and worked closely with our electrician a couple days later to resolve the issue prior to actual blowing in of the insulation. Dave and his crew removed the old inefficient patchwork of insulation. They then added channels around the rafters to promote air-flow. "When hiring a contractor, I look for someone that is reliable, honest, takes pride in their work and provides excellent work for a fair price. Bill Brown has of these traits and truly cares about this work satisfying his customers. Bill was there for the entire process. From the initial estimate where he thoroughly inspected the entire attic including the difficult to get to addition off the back of the house. He also recommended CMC Energy Services to conduct an Energy Audit so we could receive rebate of $1.00 per sq ft on the insulation cost. He went over in detail what was needed on the quote and finally Bill was right there with his crew on installation day. As for the job itself, Bill and his crew installed over 90 soffit baffles, rerouted the bathroom exhaust vent, installed plywood cat walk covered in heatshield around HVAC equipment and then finally adding blown in insulation. This was no easy task based on the layout of the attic and the difficult access to the addition. During the entire installation Bill and his crew were neat and professional. In the end, we didn't realize how poorly insulated our attic was. The house is much warmer and it just snowed and no more ice dams!! I can't wait to see the difference in the summer as well now that our A/C vents are under a nice blanket of insulation. I would highly recommend Bill for all your energy saving needs."

Day of the install crew arrived on time introduced themselves let me know what was going to be done, felt comfortable leaving them in my house while I went to work. Second day of the install met the Forman, David Hicks very friendly, attention to details and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. The crew never seemed like they were in a rush or like they were just trying to slap the job in. Took however long it took and they did it right and clean.
