"We moved into our house in the winter and found out that the 70 year old insulation was quite deteriorated and moldy in the fall. We decided to have the old insulation removed so that we could cut down on heating bills and get rid of the smell. I contacted several companies and interacted with Joe from Good Life as the salesperson. He was kind enough to come to our house twice as the scope of the project changed. Both times, he drafted the proposal right at the end of the visit. His professionalism and the quoted price convinced us to go with Good Life Energy Savers. On day 1, the first crew came to remove the old insulation from the attic and used open cell spray foam to insulate the basement rim joists. On day 2, a second crew came to apply blown-in fiberglass insulation in the attic. Please note that the material they use is not irritant at all. Both crews worked really hard and cleaned up very well after they were done. I was especially impressed with the job 1st crew did to remove the old insulation from the slopes on a cathedral ceiling. My only minor complaint is regarding the patch in the ceiling at the end of the job. The guys used paper tape and there were bubbles all around. I guess they were very tired at the end of the day. Initially, I was planning to paint the room myself to cover the patch. But after removing the paper tape (due to bubbles) and using fiber mesh tape and joint compound, I figured I wouldn't be able to smooth the edges of the patch perfectly and hired a professional. Overall, it is a great company that provides quality job at a reasonable price. With the new insulation, the furnace runs much less frequently and I am pretty sure the job will pay for itself very in a few years."

In deterring the scope of the project, they listened to all our concerns, and devised a comprehensive plan to meet all our needs, not just simply an insulation replacement. The actual work crew was very friendly and respectful of our house and property. We alway got notice when they would arrive and were always on time. They kept us informed every step of the way with pictures of their progress. They let us know early on of one potential electrical issue with recessed lighting and worked closely with our electrician a couple days later to resolve the issue prior to actual blowing in of the insulation. "Out 1957 home had minimal insulation in the attic. Over the years some had been added but there were many gaps which made for uneven temperatures throughout the house. Dave and his crew removed the old inefficient patchwork of insulation. They then added channels around the rafters to promote air-flow. Finally they added blown in insulation to achieve R49 or better. The insulation is already making a difference in even temperatures all through the house. "Bill was very professional and prompt. He took a look at our attic and recommended adding insulation, an attic stairway cover and attic whole house fan cover. (Our attic was R10 when we had Bill take a look and is now R59 thanks to Bill) We also had him install some insulation in our basement. "He was on time and the team was efficient -- did the usual that all energy audit providers do - replace lightbulbs, blower test, weather stripping and then try to sell you insulation or new energy efficient A/C. The problem was that the salesman gave us a template report afterwards (via email) that was totally incomplete. Even when my husband told him that it was incomplete and didn't address all our questions, we never heard from him again. I guess because we weren't interested in additional services, we weren't a valued customer. <br />"

"Our three season porch had a lot of rotting wood that was behind aluminum cladding. When we had Dave come up to look the job over, he told me that he would only be able to give us an estimate on the damage he could see, since most of the wood was either aluminum clad, or under sheathing or siding. This seemed reasonable to me, and a short time later we received his estimate, which I thought was very fair. It did state that the job could cost more if additional damage was found, which again made perfect sense to me. After a couple of days into the project it was obvious that the job was going to cost more as they had to spend much more time on it than anticipated, and also had to use more material. As soon as he realized this, Dave immediately informed me. I was fine with it as I fully expected this to happen. Well, after the job was done, I received the revised cost on this project and all I can say is that I am extremely happy with the price, but especially pleased with the way the entire project was done from beginning to end! Every day when I got home from work, Dave would go over what he did, and tell me what he was going to do next, and how he was going to do it. There were never any mysteries, as I was always kept up to date on what was going on. All I can say is that both Dave, and his partner Jim not only met my expectations, but surpassed them! They worked very neatly, and always cleaned up before finishing the day. Every day after work I would look over what they had done that day, and I was very happy with the quality of their work! Not to mention the fact that they always treated me courteously, were very easy to talk to, and extremely professional! I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Albert's Home Repair to anyone! In fact I have already spoken to them about a future project for a family member, as well as some future projects at my home. These guys are great! Five stars all the way!"
