"Our pipes froze and I called all over trying to find a plumber to help me. When I called McCoy she said she was going to ask a plumber to call me. I figured this was going to be like all the rest and I would never hear back. A few minutes later, I got a call back and Rick walked me through what I could do to unfreeze my pipes. He called a few minutes ago to make sure I was ok and check on things. Amazing! I am in real estate and will recommend them to all of my clients!"

"Had Jason Price respond to the service call. He found it was a hot water pipe that had burst. Was very professional, transparent, and fixed the leak right away. We will definitely use Queen City Plumbing again in the future."

"The company was very responsive, from the time I contacted them to the service tech arriving it was less than an hour. The tech was professional and courteous. He reviewed the issue with the kitchen sink, then asked to check the rest of the plumbing under the house (crawl space). He discovered a vested pipe to an outside spigot. I had purchased a replacement faucet in advance for the kitchen. The quote to replace the faucet and repair the pipe was nearly $600, which I felt was high, but I agreed to have both completed. After starting the faucet install he indicated the hose was to short for my plumbing and up sold me to a more expensive faucet. this increases the job to over $1,000. I then said do the sink but leave the pipe, the cost was just too much. The job took longer than I expected, but was a quality job. The tech double and triple checked the sink for leaks and left the work area as clean as it was before he started. I trust the work that was done, but if you're on a tight budget I believe there are better choices, I just can't justify the pricing. I do not believe they will be asked to return and repair the pipe under the house."

"The individual who came out was prompt and professional. However, the price that the company provided was extremely high. $3300 to run a gas line to a BBQ is crazy."

"Bought a house which had been vacant for an extended period.  County required Gas line inspection.  Inspection revealed several leaks in the gas line.  Removed old gas line and installed completely new line to all three outlets. Required several inspections by public works and Jim took care of scheduling, permits and everything.
Water heater turned out to be rusted out too, so had it replaced also.
Jim and his crew were extremely professional and easy to work with.  He went out of his way to make sure we were happy with everything.  Always on time and followed up after each visit to make sure we were pleased. Even came in on a Saturday at no extra charge to install the new water heater.
We couldn't be happier.  A+ experience!

"Jim was professional and an expert in figuring out what was faulty. He identified that we needed to replace the gas valve and not only installed a new one but also restored the embers as well. We are thrilled, and we and our landlord will recommend Jim to anyone needing fireplace installation or repairs. Jim was also very respectful and punctual. Jim was also incredibly courteous and generous with his time especially because we have a cancer patient in our apartment. Thank you Jim!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Granite Quarry, NC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
