"These folks are great. I called and left a voicemail asking for someone to call back. Received a return call a couple hours later. The man came for the estimate on time and was thorough and very professional. Answered all my questions, explained the Maine state refund program. Made things very very easy to understand. They came out over the past two days and worked efficiently and actually said we had more insulation in the crawl space then they had estimates, so we saved a little money there. When they left you would not have known they had been in our home. Would use them again and recommend highly!
"

"Ian and his crew were very good and did everything they said they would do quickly and professionally. The project came in on budget and time. They worked around the schedule at the church which was very important to us. The job site was kept clean and there was not interference with the activities of the church. We were very happy with the work and would definitely hire them again for any new projects."

"Although the project turned out to be more complicated and took longer than expected, this had little to do with
the builder or his sub-contractors. Primarily the delays were due to weather, financing issues, and poor
communications on the part of the town's code enforcement officer.
Let me address this last issue first. Everything seemed to be alright until the pad was poured. The code
enforcement officer was upset that she was not notified prior to the pouring of the cement so she could inspect
the forms and re-bar. This and quot;misunderstandingand quot; occurred because the CEO never communicated to either myself or the
contractor at what points during the project she wanted to perform inspections. However, from this point forward
the CEO seemed to question every aspect of the project. Demonstrating considerable restraint and diplomacy, most
of the time the contractor bowed to her demands (he was much , but drew the line at her trying to force him to
install a water shutoff valve in a location that would likely have caused our well pump to burn out. In this
case Greg Bragg stood his ground, backing it up with State of Maine statutes.
With respect to the weather, June 2013 was one of the wettest on record for Maine. As far as financing, the
magnitude and cost of the project exceeded what we had budgeted and we found out just how difficult it is to
secure financing for rental property, especially if you are setting up a used mobile home. Consequently, we had
to break the project into two phases.
The demolition of the old house and initial site preparation went very smoothly as can be seen in this 8 minute
YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWaJEgV2iJE).
Getting the mobile home onto the pad was a bit more interesting since the ground was still very muddy from all
the rain we received in June and July. Fortunately, Greg Bragg of Bragg Builders had the foresight to keep a
bulldozer onsite. As can be seen in this 8 minute YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioZ1IFl-3CQ),
the bulldozer was absolutely essential.
The only other issue related to Bragg Builders portion of the project was a ruptured water line. Prior to
constructing the gravel pad a brand new water line was installed and was even packed in sand to ensure rocks
would not rupture the line. Unfortunately, a rupture occurred anyway. Fortunately, the contractor promptly
installed a new water line, at no charge to us.
"

"Ron was on site quickly for an estimate. He was very willing to listen my my ideas and he had some great ideas of his own. I was provided a detailed quote which showed me exactly where my money was going. When the crew arrived they were very friendly and professional. The work site was always kept clean which was a must as you must walk all the way through my house to get to this space. I'm very happy with the end result and finished product. This company is very professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of a simple project, renovation or newly constructed home.
"

"Lauren McCarl responded promptly to my inquiry and made a timely appointment to do an energy survey of my home. She performed a blower test, took infrared photos and entered the attic to locate potential problems. She reviewed the results the same day, showed me the areas that needed work and helped me prioritize the tasks according to biggest energy return for the money. She sent me an estimate a day or two later. Her organization subcontracts the work and and makes sure it is done on time and correctly. The contractor was punctual and professional, as was the crew and the quality of their work. Lauren came by the first day of work to make sure the correct tasks were being done. The contractor and his crew were respectful of my home and cleaned up after themselves well.
Lauren returned a week later to repeat the blower test and infrared photography. Not only was the work done correctly, but decreased the air infiltration in my 2006 home by 18%! The difference was felt immediately. Lauren sent me a final written report of the results of the work and before/after infrared photos. She also obtained a release for my energy suppliers in order to monitor energy savings over time. Finally, her organization took care of submitting the paperwork necessary to qualify for an Efficiency Maine program that took $600 off the total cost.
I would not hesitate to recommend Home Energy Evaluation Testing. Even in a modern house their work made a world of difference and was well done.
"

"Absolutely wonderful. Scott and his crew arrived promptly, removed the old shingles, replaced new shingles and cleaned all the debris. Scott understood our anxiety about the timing and worked with us to achieve a safe and secure roof. He will also be providing building services for us in the future.
NOTE NEW ADDRESS: 135 Hadley Lake Road/East Machias//(207)263-5880
"

"When hired to do this job, Mark Burnett assured us that the foam would fill all spaces in the peak of the roof, preventing the accumulation of moisture. However, that was not done; what was created was a micro-climate up there that not only collected moisture, but it came down anywhere it could, leaking into the living space below. We were in the process of finishing the room by the time we realized what was happening, and had drywall up, so this was not a happy situation. The last thing you want is water dripping onto your new ceilings from a space you can't get at. Mark was positive that they had done nothing wrong, which is strange since he wasn't here when it was sprayed, and didn't come to look at it. Finally, after quizzing his workers, he admitted that they had NOT done it correctly. He did not take responsibility for fixing it, and probably hoped he'd never hear from us again. We had to wait for better weather to remove the top of the roof of this building in order to have it correctly insulated, and the additional expense was $750. Again, although his workers did come with cans of spray insulation, he did not offer to pay for any of the cost of this repair. This could have been avoided if he'd done it correctly, as promised, the first time. This was a new building with no issues, and to see water dripping into our space was disheartening, especially when we had to undertake the repair and pay for it ourselves. Add to that Mr. Burnett's unprofessional and unkind behavior, and it all adds up to an unpleasant experience."
