The technician, Scott, showed up right on time (which is typical for SPH&A), extremely courteous (also typical), and did a timely but thorough job of the system checkup. This may be my favorite local business in the Richmond area; I feel I get a tremendous amount of value for the products and services they provide. When we needed our downstairs unit replaced two years ago, I went to great lengths to find the best possible value. During my research, I kept seeing comments about how great Short Pump Heating & Air was, and I have to say, it's all true. When they installed the downstairs unit, I was extremely impressed by the professionalism of the entire team, from the office staff to the technicians to the owner. In fact, I was so impressed that I had them replace the upstairs unit a year later, and didn't think twice about whom to call. As a homeowner, it gives me great peace of mind to have such a reliable organization as SPH&A for something as important as our heating and cooling system. This most recent service may have been a routine maintenance check, but it's great to know they still commit themselves to service excellence for their customers. "My experience with C3 was wonderful, start to finish. Bryan, unlike other folks who gave me an estimate, took time to talk with me, explain everything in detail, and was available as needed throughout the project. He has also been great about promptly providing the names of good companies for other needs I had, i.e. a plumber or someone to check out possible water damage. The crew were prompt, polite, and very patient with my questions throughout the process, as was the office staff. I would not hesitate to hire this company again!"

"I had my SC evaporator unit freeze up right before the temps started reaching 100. I called that night, and they came out the next morning to investigate. ( had to wait for the unit to defrost before they could diagnose it) We discovered that it was low on Freon, which caused the freezing, but when we opened up the cover to the evaporator, it was completely rusted. The lack of airflow caused the unit to rust out. This was the original AC installed 24 years ago. They also discovered that the builder undersized all the duct-work. the size of the return, couldn't supply enough air to the system. (yes, i checked the math, and they were correct). They gave me several options on replacing the unit, and I went with the most efficient, highest SEER rating, since we're planning on staying in the house at least another 10 years. They replaced both the furnace, and the AC unit, and ran all new, larger duct-work, they arrived promptly at 8 AM, and the crew finished up around 6 PM. There was an issue with the mainboard controller (factory problem), and they followed up and replaced it. The whole crew was polite, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves. The new unit is much quieter, the airflow downstairs is dramatically better, and hopefully, I'l start to see those energy savings in my next Dominion Power bill :)"

"Very well. Lee Strayer of ARS sold us the system being replaced and it was a good experience so we used Lee again. He walked us through the available options and fully answered our questions which made the decision easier. He also worked to take advantage of manufacturer discounts and to arrange the installation. The day of the installation was pouring rain but the team worked around that without complaint or mess to our home and were finished by mid-afternoon."

"I needed help quickly! I ordered an AC unit for my mother and it arrived a day early (plus I was out of town when it arrived)! Thank Heaven for Tan the Handyman! Not only was he easy to be reached but he installed the AC unit (plus made a necessary run to an electrical supply facility for additional parts) all in the same day! This type of professionalism and great service is unfortunately) becoming a rarity. I sincerely hope that Tan the Handyman continues to grow be a remain a valuable asset to the metro Richmond area!"

"Computer had been acting up for a while but I kept putting off getting it fixed.  After reading all the great reviews, I decided to give N.A.T.S. a call.  So glad I did.   Jim was able to resolve all my problems remotely - no drop off or pick up necessary - so convenient!  I feel like I have a brand new computer, it runs so well and FAST too.  I couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to use his services again.  My only regret is that I didn't call him sooner.

"Woke up to cold downstairs -- heating system not working.  First floor furnace was not turning on.  Called company and service technician arrived same morning.  Very professional.  Troubleshot the furnace and found burnt out ignitor.  Called Carrier to confirm part number and appropriate replacement.  Installed new ignitor and verified operation.  I also decided to purchase yearly service plan for both Heat/AC zones (two visits per year for each) for $270.

"First called them out for the A/C not
working at all. After a big storm, just stopped working. Nothing. Sometimes
with surges, we just flip the breaker, reset it and it works. This time it didn?t.
They came out, were very nice but charged us 1000 for a new board and
capacitor.(this was just replace last year under warranty) and I though, it was
really high for what I was getting. He was done in 20 minutes. But, I was
getting ready for surgery and just agreed to it. I couldn?t seem to get answer
other than it was 7 years old why I was replacing this stuff again from last
summer. I was wondering if there was an electrical surge or something that
could do that. No answers.
A few weeks later dies again. They came
out and said it was the capacitor again. They did fix it for free. Both times
really pressuring us to sign up for a month plan and we would get discounts on
service. Felt very pressured. On the second visit, when the put it back
together, the fan was clanging. The guy said it was an old unit and that it
sounded that way. My neighbor came over and complained two nights later. Well,
the fan motor blew out not long after. I called them and they said they need an
extra couple hundred since this wasn?t related or I could join their club and
get a discount. I feel it hard to believe three things blew in 2 months. On the
flip side, the guys were nice, timely and professional. However, sales approach
to replace or join their club was annoying. Probably won?t use them again.
All of this happened within two months.
Now, I may have the worst luck on my unit (it is a 7 year old York) but I have
a model right next to it and it hasn?t broken down at all other than needing
some Freon.
