"Formal Complaint Against: Beacon Services and Appliance Heat & Air To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this formal complaint regarding Beacon Services and Appliance Heat & Air, whom I hired to install a new air conditioning system, including a condenser and air handler, at my residence. Following the installation, I experienced cooling issues almost immediately—beginning the day after the system was put in. The company also collected approximately $500 in advance for two years of preventative maintenance service, which they repeatedly failed to deliver. Despite multiple requests, they rarely—if ever—performed the promised maintenance, apparently relying on me to initiate each contact and hoping I would eventually stop calling. Each time the system failed to cool properly, a technician was dispatched and performed the same temporary fix: they would adjust the drain line slightly (by lifting a PVC pipe roughly half an inch), which would re-engage the drain floats and the fan and temporarily restore cooling. For this, I was charged a $79 service fee each time, despite the fact that the underlying installation issue was never properly addressed. In September 2024, a technician visited and left the drain line completely disconnected, citing that he had to leave abruptly due to a personal emergency. He left tools behind at my property and did not complete the job. When I called the company to report this, a person identifying himself as “Dan” (possibly the owner) instructed me over the phone on how to reconnect the drain myself. Despite working out of my element in potentially unsafe conditions and following the instructions, the system continued to function improperly. Cooler weather came and the drain was not needed. Most recently, on May 8, 2025, I again contacted the company as the system was not cooling. A young technician arrived but appeared inexperienced and attempted the same drain line "adjustment trick." I witnessed this tactic firsthand and confronted him about it. I refused to pay the $79 service fee until the drain was properly repaired and the system restored to full function—an entirely reasonable request given the history and the amount I’ve already paid. In response, a representative named Chris (who claimed to be the owner or lead technician) informed me the next morning that because I had refused the payment and challenged the technician, they were terminating all service and would no longer respond to my calls or emails. Since then, I have been completely blocked from any further contact with the company. I have invested thousands of dollars into this HVAC system and was repeatedly misled, overcharged, and ultimately abandoned without a functioning unit or fulfillment of the prepaid maintenance agreement. In my view, this behavior demonstrates negligence, poor workmanship, and a pattern of deceptive business practices. I am requesting a full investigation into this company’s conduct and whether they remain in compliance with Florida HVAC installation standards and licensure requirements. I also ask that you determine whether disciplinary action is warranted and whether restitution should be pursued on my behalf. If you are thinking of having BEACON APPLIANCES HEATING AND AIR supply your air conditioning or appliance needs, I would suggest being very aware and watch them every second. Sincerely, KM"

"They DESTROYED my home within 2 minutes of being there. They arrived 2 hours late. Broke my window screen, then after being warned about the fire pipes at least 5 times, fell on one and broke it open within 2 minutes of being in the attic. Never even blew any insulation. The guy who did it was sick and the boss told him to go into work anyway. He said he was rushing and that's why he tripped on his own hose. They damaged 3 units total. I've been bouncing around hotels for a month, cleaning up their mess, spending so many hours on fixing this all because they sent a sick worker who wanted to rush through a job. I called them to talk with them and they wouldn't speak to me. They directed me to their insurance who is refusing estimate claims. I will be months out of a home. I suggest you hire anyone else."
