"The company had to adjust their schedule several times due to our requests either because of weather or other work being done at our house and they always did it cheerfully and assured us that it was okay. The two men arrived an hour early (6:30am) and said they would return in an hour if it was too early for us. They were extremely pleasant, careful and worked quickly. Pleasure to have them work here. <br />"

"They pointed out areas of air loss that needed to be covered or blocked and advised  more attic insulation which service they will provide. Their price offer seems reasonable.  I'm still crunching numbers. <br />"

"From start to finish it was a great experience. Fred came out and spoke with my husband and myself. He was very sensitive to our needs and budget. I loved the door that we chose. Installation was amazing the crew arrived on time and treated our home as if were theirs. I would definitely use this company again."

"<p>Marc Brown came out measure everything, spoke to me about cost and Options.  He then emailed me a detailed quote.  I lost the quote and he had to send again, no problem.</p> <p>Two men came out to do the install, very courteous and professional.  Covered everything, wore the booties and made sure everything was a spotless when they left as when they came in.</p> <p>Whole thing took about 1-1/2 hours and has made a world of difference in my comfort level on my upper floor (which ironically was colder than my main level.</p> <p>The only reason I gave them a B on the price was not that it was fair compared to the other quotes that I had, but they had no discount for Angie's List Members.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"American Home Performance provided excellent energy efficiency report, installation and service. Rick performed a home energy review and suggested work to be done. He provided a detailed report with information and pricing for each item and did not push me to contract for all services recommended. The pricing was fair and Rick credited my BGE rebate to the cost Ii needed to pay. The insulation and attic sealing work I had performed by his crew in February was accomplished in one, very long day for them, but they were determined to finish and cleaned up everything before they left. Rick came back to do testing to ensure everything was installed properly. I would recommend this company. Fair pricing and professional service."

"Our house is old, and the windows that were installed were original builder windows. The seals on the double pane were so old the windows were all clouded. We began looking for a company to replace the windows for us. Naturally, we called Thompson Creek and Andersen . When we had a quote from one of those companies, our jaws dropped. After their coupons and discounts, our quote was $18,000. There was absolutely no way we were going to be able to afford windows through those companies. We had high hopes when we found Potomac View Energy. The reviews stated that customers got fantastic quotes and that were head and shoulders lower than the other companies. Chris Lawrence, the owner of Potomac View Energy, came out to give us a quote in Mid-May, and we were shocked by how great of a deal he was able to provide. Fantastic windows at less than half the price of the other competitors! We signed on the dotted line almost right away, no questions! Chris was very thorough, detailing everything we needed to know about the windows, and how the installation would go. In the weeks after we put our deposit down, Chris was very patient with us, answering any and all questions we had. The gentleman who came to measure the windows for us was very courteous and called a head to make sure we were available to meet. Mid-way through the summer, we decided to get a new front door installed. This was all done in an attempt to make our home more energy efficient. Our front door was originally a door, with a 36" wide single pane window. We were losing so much energy and heat through the window. Plus there was a definite privacy issue with a huge piece of glass at the bottom of our stairs. We talked with Chris, and he figured out what we would need to do and the best fit. Chris directed us to a website he uses to design and purchase doors through. He provided us with some great information, and helped us decide what would be the best fit. The day of installation, a team of workers came out. They were very respectful and gave us plenty of notice prior to, and time once they got here to get our affairs in order (we have several animals and needed to make sure they wouldn't escape!) Within the day, they had about 14 windows installed, a door frame (insulation and dry wall), and a new door with sidelight installed. They came back a couple days later to install the siding. There was some confusion with what we had asked to get done, and the installers (and Chris) were very quick to get the issues resolved, almost immediately. In the weeks after the installation, Chris was always available to answer any questions we had. It was a breath of fresh air to be able to deal directly with the CEO versus dealing with endless customer service. We would highly recommend Potomac View Energy to anyone in need of windows or doors. I have even passed along their praises to coworkers who are in need of new doors."

"Working with Javier helps to understand how the insurance coverage works. This was not something I could have done on my own. Javier acted almost like an insurance attorney providing invaluable advice. So, the moral of the story is that you need Javier to guide you through your coverage. However, this does not mean that you leave everything to Javier and sit in the corner. You have to understand what is covered and what is not and be ready to supplement your extras out of your pocket to realize your own expectations. The paintwork is a good example; the insurance won't pay the Benjamin Moore paint, and what they pay for doesn’t do much beauty. Then you have to follow up and make sure you pay the extra for what you really want. This works with everything; if you work with Javier on your budget, you will need to take his lead with the third-party contractors. The other deceptive element of insurance is the timing; if you depend on the money coming from the insurance, the process takes forever. The insurance reinstallation is a business model, a system, and there is no logic to it. When supplemental requests are involved, the insurance pays $1000 to accommodation instead of instantly approving a $500 supplemental. The process is very frustrating, and people get frustrated; however, Javier NEVER says NO. Whatever you want, he finds a way to deliver. He did the re-paint job for free with the paint of my choice. I was unhappy with some installations. He immediately got them fixed. One other thing is that Javier never bothered me with payment timing. He was pretty flexible. He did not even call for follow-up. I read the negative reviews on the website, and I realized I had most of them myself, BUT the point is Javier is not the reason. Construction work is an expensive open-ended process; the products we usually get are not top-notch Armani Case; they are what insurance covers and the process is frustratingly time-consuming unless you pay up-front and ready to pay for extras. So the frustration-cause is not Javier; it is the difference between what it is and what we want to be. Javier worked on my place for several months; his team is reliable, honest, and trustable."
