"Dan did a great job of going through everything very thoroughly with me and pointing out a plan of remedy for the aspects of my home that seemed most significant to least significant. I would recommend him in the future for anyone looking to get an understanding of their home energy performance."

"Prompt service with very little advanced notice. Technician removed old flame sensor and installed a new one in about 20 minutes. Pleased with technician and service, and will do business again them again if needed. Owner called to confirm service and sent a text with name and information about the technician before his arrival."

"I called Perma-Seal for a Foundation Crack in my home. James came out to evaluate the problem, he called ahead to let me know he was on his way, arrived on time and even came with his own clogs to enter my home. I must say James performed a very comprehensive analysis of the problem, he spent nearly an hour and a half mapping out my basement and inspecting the exterior of the house even in a slight drizzle. He reached out to his colleagues for input and when done explained the problem and solutions professionally and with video presentations of the process. Jame’s professionalism and attention to detail was impressive along with being very courteous and respectful of my property."

"They were very good. Only issue is one team member, the head one had an arrogant attitude when I asked him NOT to come in through our front marble foyer. He still insisted on coming into our house this way, causing freezing winter air to enter our home with two elderly parents in their nineties, one bed ridden in hospice to catch a draft from his disrespectful attitude."

"Excellent. Fast, courteous, showed up on time, did a thorough walkthrough of the space, identified the problem and documented with pictures so I could see the issue. As it turns out the problem is external to the HVAC and will need another contractor, but Tom was clear about my options and recommended an insulation approach that would result in less work for him but less expense for me. We discussed backup plans and pricing and I am very confident that if I need a full vent replacement (last resort) that I will call this firm to do it. Expert, honest, friendly, and fairly priced. Hire these guys."

"After getting MANY quotes for new furnace and a/c units for my home we decided to go with Integrity. From the very first time the salesman, Jeff, came to our home we were impressed with the professionalism and value of quality Integrity offered. We took quite a while to come to our final decision and because Integrity kept in constant communication with us, we decided to choose them to install our new system. They weren't the cheapest quote we received, but they definitely had the most to offer in terms of warranty, product reliability and other incentives. We went with a 97% efficient, two stage furnace and 2.5 ton ac unit. The ac unit had to be moved from the yard to the side of the house which required additional electric and line set work.
When the installers arrived and began working (my husband who is NOT easily impressed) kept commenting on how much he liked the fact that our installers kept him involved in the process. My husband is a very mechanical person and wanted to attempt the install himself so for the professionals to keep him looped in was awesome. The installers were courteous and respectful. The install took a little longer than WE anticipated, but upon speaking with the installers it was exactly the amount of time they anticipated given our specific job.
I would HIGHLY recommend Integrity for your ac & furnace needs! They might not be the cheapest quote, but for what your getting the quality and professionalism MORE than makes up for the slightly higher price tag. (And I do mean SLIGHTLY)

FAQs for home energy audit projects in Itasca, IL

To prepare for a home energy audit, begin by preparing your space. Clear any obstructions around the attic, basement, ducts, crawl space, appliances, windows, and doors. Gather all your energy bills from the last year and information on home upgrades if you’ve made any changes. If you’ve previously had an audit done, include that information as well.

Finally, be prepared to discuss any questions or concerns you have. If you’ve noticed a rise in your energy bills, hot or cold areas in your home, or unusual sounds from ducts or appliances, make a list to discuss with your auditor.

How often you should get an energy audit depends on the age and condition of your home. New homes with no issues are recommended to get an audit every five years, while older homes should audit every two to three years. If you’ve noticed any changes to your energy bills or other areas of concern, you should get an audit as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to conduct an audit if you’ve made changes or upgrades to your home, such as installing a new furnace, windows, or doors.

An energy audit takes three to four hours to complete. Your auditor sets up testing equipment, conducts an exhaustive walk‑through inspection, and performs all required evaluations to identify energy loss points. The audit follows a systematic review that includes visual assessments, mechanical tests, and detailed documentation, resulting in a precise report of improvement recommendations.

You can schedule a home energy audit any time of the year—it all depends on what's convenient for you. That said, timing it right can help you tackle issues before they impact your comfort and bills. If you live in a colder climate and want to avoid high heating costs in the winter, getting an audit in the summer allows you to make improvements before the temperature drops. On the contrary, if hot summers are your concern, a spring audit can help you stay cool and save on air conditioning.

To find a qualified home energy auditor, start by searching for local energy auditors with great reviews and recognized certifications like those from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). These credentials ensure they're qualified and can help you qualify for rebates. Don't hesitate to ask about their audit methods and schedule a consultation to see if they're a good fit for your needs. Doing some research upfront helps you get top-notch service and maximize your energy efficiency.

Once you have your energy audit report, it's time to take action. Review the recommendations and prioritize the upgrades that make the most sense for your home and budget. Reach out to experienced pros to get quotes and discuss how they can help. By making these improvements, you'll boost your home's energy efficiency, lower your utility bills, and enjoy a more comfortable living space.
