"Two men appeared.  They were in my home for about an hour and removed a seized shower handle and replaced a shower cartridge and handle, and the flapper and valve in my toilet bowl.  The toilet bowl fix I have done before, and the only reason I had them do it is because I was most concerned about the leaks in my shower and backyard and I figured I'd have them do that while they were there doing something more important.  However, I do not think that the cost of $208 plus a  $12  trip charge was warranted for replacing the flapper and valve in the toilet bowl and the shower cartridge.  (I also spent $139 in material) <br /> Keep Smiling is transparent about the cost of them coming out no matter what service they are providing.  I have no problem with that.  However, I do not honestly feel that while they were in my home they were not diligent in finding the problem to my leaks. I could have lived with the shower handle problem and I could have fixed the flapper/valve problem myself, my real problem was the leaks in the shower that was coming down to the first floor and the leak out of my spigot in the backyard. Based on what they wrote on my receipt, "Checked out rear spigot for freeze break; house on slab, cutoff to outside spigot under kitchen cabinet, pipes dives back into floor of cabinet.  Needs siding removed to access piping rom exterior."  From my understanding they do not remove siding.  I found that incredulous.  So my understanding was that I would have to find someone else to remove the siding or do it myself in order for them to inspect the pipes from the outside.  I did tell them I was doing a kitchen remodel and they said that when the cabinet is removed that it be looked at from the inside.  But what if the leak was on the outside and all that was needed was to remove the siding!  In addition, I later found out that the leak from my shower did not come from the shower door, as they stated on my receipt, but from a busted pipe behind the wall.  The contractor working on my home renovation found that.  He cut a hole in the bathroom wall from the toilet room side which shares a wall with the shower, and he cut a hole in the ceiling from the first floor to find it.  I would not have mind if Keep Smiling had done that as well, but I was not given the option. <br /> In conclusion, they are nice and professional when on the job site.  However, the price per hour could be better spent. <br />"

"Very thorough in examining plumbing system. Showed pictures of problem and gave several alternatives to correct. Robert fixed plumbing problem and installed 2 toilets same day. Robert cleaned up areas where old toilets were and removed all trash and fixtures. Robert was very professional pleasant and knowledgeable. Appreciated getting options with cost of each option and benefits of each. Provided information on water company rebates for new toilets. Will use A1 in the future."

"<p>We were very pleased with the cleaning crew from Roto Rooter who cleaned up our basement after a pipe backup.  They were on time, kept us informed of the status and next steps, picked up after themselves and closed the gate in our backyard when leaving for the day.  We have a dog that would quickly run away so this is really appreciated.  Shea Byrd was wonderful to work with!  He is fun and light hearted which made it a bit easier to work through this stressful situation.  He is knowledgeable in explaining the process and offered recommendations.  In addition he was empathetic of the situation and considerate of the reality that we were losing personal items.  He is also going above and beyond to help replace an item that was lost in the clean-up.  It is not often that I find a service provider that truly cares, and it is truly appreciated.  We would highly recommend Roto Rooter and working with Shea.  </p> <p>Prior to the cleanup we worked with a plumber from Roto Rooter who was also very helpful.  He offered options and made recommendations.  He was also empathetic of the situation we were in.  He did anything he could to make this a better situation and not waste money on extra procedures that may not be needed.  He put us in touch with the restoration and clean up group which stepped us through the process of what needed to be done.</p> <p>When the pipe work was actually done this group did not provide the same level of service.  They performed the work but never checked in with us prior to leaving or told us the final issue found.  This was frustrating as we were anxious to know what was causing the problem and we needed this information to report to our insurance.</p> <br> <br> <br> <br>"
