"I have used Genove several times in the past for work on my boiler and water heater.  They are great guys and do excellent work.  I recently had them come give me a quote me for a full AC replacement.  They quoted me several thousand dollars more base-level Carrier equipment than did their competitor using performance series Carrier equipment.
I knew they do a good job, but couldn't justify the cost.

"We have had several Sila visits in recent months - all exceptional. VISIT 1: We had old pipes and valves that limited our dishwasher, so we had that replaced. While there, the Sila agent suggested we replace some of the attached lines and managed to streamline our hookups by removing some of the unneeded valves and connections no longer needed. VISIT 2: We similarly had a great visit and instal from David, who did a very beautiful install on our new water heater. He removed the broken unit, improved the connection design, put in improved valves and labelled each with a tag, then tagged other connections through the basement."

The entire process from getting a quote to completing the installation couldn't have been any better. "Diagnosis and repair were straightforward and the talented Mike, who has done other great work for us on our ACs, had a replacement pump in his truck. Swapped over in under an hour. Cost of the repair was quite high, mainly due to very high price they charged for the pump. A Taco pump that I could buy for $175 was priced on this repair at more than $500. I get that it was an urgent situation and I’m happy to pay reasonably for the response but that mark-up bothered me. I called the office, had a long talk with the owner; sadly, she offered no consideration at all. Yes, it’s hard to find and keep skilled techs, but now seems that most HVAC firms have a business model like a car dealer’s service dept, far more corporate, less flexible or customer-considerate."

"It was quite a surprise to find black mold growing in our mini-split heat-pump/ac units over the weekend! The situation was quite dire with the system emitting a bad smell and the fact that I have asthma and mold allergies which posed a serious health risk! After being told by the company that originally installed the system, “We don’t provide deep cleaning service for these units, try looking on Angie’s List (boo on Sila!)” I landed here. While other companies did respond to my bid, Atlantic Heating and Air Conditioning was the most responsive and was able to send out a team on one day’s notice (the wait for other service providers was up to three weeks!). The tech team, Josh and Zack, arrived on time and called me 1/2 before arrival as promised. They were very respectful, kept a clean work space and (since we are in the middle of a pandemic) wore masks and were very careful about the usual COVID protocols. The four units in our home are now SPARKLING CLEAN! We are 110% pleased with this job!! We will hire Atlantic as need be in the future for our heating and cooling needs. I have given up on the company that originally installed the units and will post a truthful review about them in an appropriate space online. I would definitely recommend Atlantic to family and friends. (photos attached to this review show one of the units before cleaning - did not think to take after pictures. Suffice it to say, no more mold:)"

"After initial installation , system failures required replacing defective heat pump."

"The personable owner, Tony Del Papa, came out to give us
an estimate for installing exhaust fans in our bathroom. Since we
hadn't bought the fans yet, it was helpful that he told us what to
look for and suggested a particular brand. We then ordered fans
through Lowe's.
The company was prompt with returning calls and providing a written
estimate in the mail.
Once we had an appointment with the company that was going to vent the
fans, we scheduled Village Electric to come out several days before
that day.The two workers who came out were courteous and arrived within the
hour time window we expected them. We tested out the fans and they
worked fine, but we waited until they were vented to the outside to
actually use them.
The quality of the electrical work performed was good, but we had a
couple of minor issues, which is the reason that we gave a B for
professionalism. To install the fans, the workers had to go into the attic.
They had to move some insulation from the attic floor
and did not roll it back into place when they were done, and the
insulation batting covering the attic hatch mysteriously disappeared.
 
Also, a piece of ceiling that needed to be cut out was left in the
attic instead of being discarded. Replacement of the junction box for
the master bathroom light/fan switches caused a ceramic towel bar to
partly detach from the wall.
We have used Village Electric several times before, and this is the
only time anything like this has happened. We informed
them about it and don't expect to have any future problems, so we will
use them again.

"Job was to replace electric ignition boiler with one of larger size. New unit was delivered with pilot ignition. Compensation via Clay from supplier was accepted. Other than this goof the installation went well. Workmanship good. Job done precisely as scheduled. Unit operational."
