"I had a great experience with Phil & Arvada Insulation. One of the bedrooms in our 1959 house was always colder in the Winter and warmer in the Summer. Now that it was a nursery for our baby boy we needed to do something about it. After trying a new vent and cellular shades I decided it was time to try to get the walls insulated, which felt like it would be a daunting (and expensive!) task. I called Phil from Arvada Insulation because I knew he was local to my neighborhood. Phil talked me through his process and my options to blow in insulation into the walls then scheduled a same day estimate. He was right on time for the estimate (though I almost napped through it) and throughly reviewed the room inside and out then provided my options and a hand-written estimate at a shocking reasonable price. I was hesitant about how my exterior brick/mortar would look following the project and Phil went the extra mile by showing me some other properties where he had done similar work and creating a new mortar sample just for me. "Our home was built in 1954 and our heating bills in the colder months were over $200. We tried sealing windows and weather stripping doors but nothing seemed to help. I found Efficiency Revolution on Angie's List and was able to set up a consultation within a week or two. Mark did an exceptionally thorough inspection of our crawl space, attic, and home inside and out. He was professional, courteous and informative. We opted to do attic sealing and insulation as the largest improvement for the time being. Mark was very helpful in sending the detailed project quote and making adjustments as needed for various specifics. "The installation part was a follow up to the energy audit I purchased from them about a month ago. When the auditor team came out, they went through several tests and out of the report, I picked the most cost-effective way to lower temperature to reduce cooling costs. The report recommended additional roof vents and new soffit vents. <br /> When the installer for the vents came out, the guy suggested that I had enough roof vents and only needed soffit vents--8 to 10 to help airflow and let hot air escape from the attic.   This is not what the energy audit recommended and this leads me to believe that the audit was incorrect (the audit cost $100). If an outfit claims to be an expert at energy audit and then the installer comes out to disagree with the audit report, this is troubling. They sure need to get their act together. <br /> I decided to just install the soffit vents and the installers finished the job in about an hour charging me $65 per vent. <br /> I should have used other contractors to install soffit vents since the job involved simply cutting into the ceiling panel and screwing cheap vents--not a complicated work.  I thought the installation cost was too much and I could have used different contractor to do the same job for at least 33% or more less. <br /> I sent off an email to Stellar detailing how I was disappointed; someone called and left a message to address my concerns; I called back and left my message so that we can talk but I never heard back from Stellar again. <br /> My advice to those who are thinking about using Stellar for energy audit or installation is to look at other companies and check reviews and skip Stellar.  But if you do hire Stellar to do the energy audit, have someone else do the installation work. <br /> <br /> <br />"
