He found a big clog in a very old pipe, which had broken as he was inspecting it. This clog had been giving us problem and was preventing the air from turning on. He ran to home depot, bought a replacement part and installed it, at no additional charge! He also vacuumed the heating unit and installed a new latch to hold the filter in place. He took the time to explain about the need to ensure the filter is secure so dirt and dust does not work its way into the main unit (Which would be very bad!). He examined the outside air conditioner and we scheduled another appointment in 6 months for a nice general check up. The outside unit may have a leak, which we were previously aware of, but he provided us additional details and let us know what our future options may be. We decided in 6 months, when they return for the semi-annual service we signed up for, that we could see how everything is looking. Very happy with the experience with Magnolia!"

"RKM made this almost a pleasure. We started with a service call to evaluate/fix the old A/C. Richard was on-time, skilled and helpful. RKM phoned to confirm appointments and sent email messages to keep us updated re: arrival times. When new equipment was needed - Robert helped us navigate the choices and design a system that was a more efficient Energy Star rated unit that met our needs at a price we could manage. We didn't need financing but, that was available as a reasonable option. Proposals, invoices and equipment brochures were all sent in detailed & easily understood email messages. Installation of the new system (furnace & A/C) went smoothly as scheduled. The installation team - Jonathan, Brian and Julio - were on-time, friendly and knowledgeable. They took care to protect our homes interior and yard. All of the old equipment was removed and new installed, tested, etc in one day. The new a/c compressor, made by Gorman is QUIET; It's only been 24 hours but, the house is COOL and we can't hear anything in the house or yard."

"Called on Sunday. Water heater was replaced on Tuesday. Installer connected overflow to existing copper overflow pipe. However, we could not determine where the existing overflow pipe was going after it passed through a wall, so I expressed concern about passing city inspection. A new overflow pipe was installed. Passed city inspection on Thursday."

"I found Precision Auto Works here on Angie's List.  They had great reviews and a 10% off labor coupon.  I decided to give them a try.  I pulled into the parking lot and was a little leery because it looks like you are parking next to a house.  Do not let this stop you.  You ARE supposed to park there.  Walk around the house to the back and you will find the office and see the shop.  It's a strange set up, but this place was awesome. 
I have never had such great customer service from an auto mechanic.  I had an engine light on in my car and I needed an oil change.  A friend had pulled the error codes from my car and I was able to walk in with those.  The office spent several minutes with me discussing and looking up the codes.  They called the mechanic (Dave) in and he also spent quite a bit of time with me.  As a female, I have never felt so comfortable at an auto shop before.  I left my car and waited for an estimate. 
A couple of hours later they had located the problem (an actuator) and gave me an estimate.  For parts, labor and a synthetic oil change, the estimate was $450.  $80 or so of that was my synthetic oil change (which is about average).   $175 was for the actuator part.  $200 for labor (with my 10% off coupon labor came to $180).  So anyway, right around $450.  Now here comes the good part.  They called a second dealership to check for the part so they could get the car back to me on the same day.  The other dealership wasn't going to have it available until the following day.  We're not sure what happened but the second dealership listed the part for $50.  They called me with the great news about the price drop and told me my car would be ready that day.  Do you know how easy it would have been for this mechanic to just charge me the full $450?  I never would have known the difference.   However, they did not do that.  They passed on the savings.  My final bill?  $301.  
I felt they we're upfront and honest throughout the entire experience.  They mentioned they will be calling the first dealership to find out why they had such a huge price difference and mentioned they will not work with them in the future if they are gouging their prices.  It may have been an honest mistake somewhere along the way but either way, they are looking into it.  I love that they kept me in the loop and told me absolutely everything that was happening.  Not many shops would take the time to keep a customer so informed.  
Try this place! You just might find "your" new mechanic!
**As as a side note, this experience has convinced me to renew my Angie's List membership.  I don't use the site very often but if I can find even one compnay a year that provides an experience like Precision Auto Works, then my membership pays for itself.

"Vigen came within 3 hours of my call. He repaired my broken air conditioner before noon on a day where a heat advisory had been issued. Luckily he had the needed parts with him. He was prompt, professional and his service fees reasonable. I will definitely call him again."

"Chis and his son came out to assess and give a quote but he found damage to the condenser.  He replaced the condenser and demonstrated that it was working outside but the air coming from the vents in the house was still warm.  So he determined that the coil  would also need to be replaced.  Chris explained the steps to be taken and why it was needed.  They worked hard in very hot conditions and were very professional.  They cleaned up the work site before leaving.

"We called Jim when our computer (PC) wouldn't even start! Yikes! He came to the office and realized quickly what was wrong. He took care of all the repairs, all of the ordering and shipping and handling from the company (he was able to get a replacement part under warranty), cleaned up our PC and brought it back to us in better shape than when we first started using it less than a year ago. Jim also upgraded our second computer with new software. I'm not a PC user normally (love my Mac) so it's hard for me to describe all that he did! He's always ready to help and answers even crazy questions without getting frustrated. I've talked to others that he's worked with and everyone I've talked to recommends him. My biggest compliment to Jim? HE talked to the outsourced customer service department and I didn't have to make the call. That's going the extra mile for your clients!"

"The polite young representative showed up on time, diagnosed the problem and removed the unit. He said he would be back in two days with the rebuilt/replacement unit. He returned as promised and replaced the repaired thingee. It fired right up and has been working fine ever since.

"I had an issue with my garbage disposal and my faucet. My faucet has a long hose that pulls out. The guy actually couldn't figure out the hose, and it works worse than it did. The garbage disposal installation was fine, but as far as the faucet, it's wobbly. He couldn't get the hose to retract and extend. The sprayer where you can shift it between the stream and the spray that was working before he worked on it, and not working after he left. The garbage disposal looks great and everything works fine. He couldn't manage to reinstall a faucet on my kitchen sink. 

I knew that it wasn't going to take very long and had considered doing it myself. I had an issue with my arm and didn't want to exacerbate that. I though while he was down there disconnecting stuff, he could troubleshoot the hose getting stuck, and he couldn't. He tried to get me to pay $125 a piece to replace ankle stops, which turns the water on and off from the hoses for your hot and cold. He turned it, and it leaks a little dribble down and said it needed to be replaced. I knew what he was doing and he quotes me $250 to replace those and you can change them for under $10. They are the easiest things to do. I wasn't appreciating the professionalism with that. 

I didn't pay more than the Big Deal. It was only for two hours worth of work. I knew the installation of my garbage disposal wasn't going to cost more than $200. I made the arrangements before they came out, I didn't spring it on them. I notified them in advance what I needed to get done. 

The garbage disposal was an "A", but making something I had not working as well as it should even worse, and then trying to sell me something for an arm and a leg that wasn't really broken would've been an "F".

They were on time and notified me when they were on their way. They didn't take very long to complete the job. They left it clean. I think they should be able to troubleshoot a fairly new faucet. Anybody who's fairly handy could install something like that. They couldn't troubleshoot what was wrong with it and it wasn't technically broken. It was a fairly new product that got jammed, maybe by the way it was connected, may have tangled to the point that it just wasn't pulling out and going back smoothly. I think that would've been plumbing 101, first day on the job, that level of education. I would've expected any plumber to be able to solve that issue and they did not. I don't have a lot of good to say about that. I don't have a $500 faucet in there, but it wasn't a junk item, and had only been in there for about a year.

I don't think it's professional to try and rip off a customer. You won't build a customer base with that dishonesty.
