"Perfect! The AC quit on a Friday evening. I called Ellington expecting a recording or answering service, but got a live person. They scheduled a call Saturday morning on Memorial Day weekend and the Tech showed up on time. "I don't usually give all 5 star reviews, but these people deserved it. I have had ducting issues with this central air unit for years. Barely any air comes out of the duct in the master bedroom, which is always warmer than the rest of the house. Other A/C companies have quoted me upwards of $1,500 to install an completely new ducting system. That seemed outrageous to me considering I only had trouble with one duct, that was literally 3 feet from the air handler. When the unit finally stopped cooling, I called Speedy Air. Mike came out the next day. The system was low on freon, as I expected. The fan motor, run capacitors, and contactor were faulty. No surprise considering the system was 8 years old and I have heard the contactor buzzing. Mike checked the system and found the leak in the evaporator that the previous technician from another company couldn't find a couple of years ago. He also looked up the warranty information on the unit and all the parts were covered. What I thought might be $1,000 or more came to less than $500. Best of all was what he found with my ducting. The problem was that the original company installed the air handler too close to the rafters on one end. That meant they had to use an abnormally small plenum, which caused the airflow problems. They were also the ones trying to get me to pay $1,500 to fix the problem they caused. Mike suggested to wait until the air handler eventually needed replacing, and change the ducting then. In the mean time he turned up the speed setting on the fan motor itself. For the first time in years we get adequate flow for the master bedroom! What else can I say. Mike ran his buns off, we had cold air within 2 hours, he solved my duct problem at no cost, all for under $500."

"I purchased the special dryer vent cleaning package and with a few days a very nice young man arrived to clean out the vent. The service technician was very professional and personable. The dryer is located in a very small laundry room and Robert managed to pull it out from the wall. Then I turned off the water so he could detach the hose for the steam cycle and within about an hour he had cleaned a ton of lint from the back of the dryer and the outside ventilation vent. When he was finished he cleaned everything up and the dryer works so much better now. I will definitely use this company again."

"Although I was aware of Kabran Air Conditioning and Heating for many years because family members and friends recommended the company, I previously used other A/C companies because I wanted only TRANE systems. Disappointed with the longevity of my last TRANE system, I decided to consider Carrier and other brands. Kabran was not the least expensive quote, but their pricing was reasonable and they seemed concerned with selecting the most appropriate (not necessarily most expensive) equipment for my needs. I went with them primarily because of their reputation and the pleasant, customer oriented communication I had with everyone in their office. My job was complex, involving duct repair, long supply lines, and humidity control. I waited over 6 months to write this review because I wanted to make sure the installed equipment actually worked well in the hottest summer months, the humid fall, and the cooler winter. My experience with Kabran and the Carrier system has been excellent. Kabran personnel are professional, courteous, and competent. They arrived as scheduled and properly completed the complex installation. They successfully trouble shot limitations/challenges posed by my home and did not charge me extra for unanticipated costs. There were a few punch list items that they quickly and happily came back to fix. The system has worked beautifully on the hottest days and coldest days so far and humidity control has been excellent. I recently discovered a damper in my system only used during winter months was not working. This was months after the installation. They quickly came, evaluated the situation and performed the repairs at no charge. In summary, Kabran Air Conditioning and Heating is an honest, experienced, and competent HVAC company characterized by high quality work at reasonable prices with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. "Jim did a great job. He quickly assessed the problem and then took our unit with him to work on it more. When he got back to us, the fix would have cost more than it was worth. He gave us options for a new or refurbished PC. We felt the refurbished was a good deal and chose that. He came back and set that up and we are very happy with it. He then took a look at my laptop and again took it along. He tuned it up and installed a speed upgrade we wanted. Of course, we paid extra for the new unit and upgrades, but we thought the price was very fair. Jim seemed very knowledgeable and responsive. We will definitely call him again if we need any computer services."
