"Installed new Carrier 3.5 ton condenser and 4 ton air handler (fan coil) units. Our old air handler was 3.5 tons. Because the new fan coil was larger, they had to break down the old air return box underneath it in the garage and rebuild a new one. The new one was made of sheet metal, and they did a good job installing it. The only thing that was unexpected was that the air ducts for our house are now maxed out at how much air flow they can take with the new unit, even with the lowest fan motor speed. Did not realize that our duct work was limited in the amount of airflow. Because of this, it might have been better to get a 3.5 ton fan coil unit, however, the efficiency for 3.5 ton unit is not as good. For the month of August our FPL bill was 30% less than last year with the same average temperature."

I contacted this company to get estimates for three different projects. We had met with two other professionals who had recommended that our A/C unit was replaced immediately. Weathershield gave us other options. They sent two guys to make an assessment and it turn out to be one the best experiences during my home remodeling project.

John and his partner completed a through assessment of my A/C unit and made recommendations based on what I was requesting. With his assessment and recommendations we were able to save money and still get work done. He explained to us that although our unit was dated it did not need immediate replacement. He recommended that we clean coils and gave us different options for the new vent. He sent additional information via email on AC units including an estimate for a new unit and  our very much needed ceiling insulation.

We decided to hire this company based on our experience with the John and the information he shared with us. Their prices were very reasonable prices when comparing them to the other two companies. They sent Jose and his partner for the new vent and they did a great job. The work was neatly done and the room cools like a the rest of the house. John came to clean our coils. He removed the entire unit and cleaned everything to perfection. Our A/C unit is working fine.

I highly recommend this company based on my experience with the quality of the work performed and most importantly their honesty. From their customer service staff to their technicians this company deserves an A. 

Once we complete some electrical work in the house, we will hire them for the installation of the ceiling insulation.

"If you'd rather not read this lengthy review... I'll cut to the chase here... CON-MECH BEAT OTHER ESTIMATES ON IDENTICAL SYSTEM BY NEARLY $700!!! But that is just the beginning as to why they deserve 5 stars! 10 year old AC unit failed and needed to be replaced. I received estimates from two other companies I found online-both of whom have almost all 5 star glowing reviews -yet I didn't have a 5 star experience. Both would only quote one unit/one brand (refused to offer any other options!) and since I had no frame of reference for what a replacement should cost I decided to check Home Advisor. Within minutes of plugging in the info I received a call from Yudel, we set an appt for an estimate, they arrived on time, were very professional and within a few hours I received VERY DETAILED quotes on FOUR different systems, which I really appreciated as it allowed me to do an apples to apples comparison with the quotes I already had on hand. Not only were the prices incredibly fair (and inline w/what a friend in the AC business said they should be) but on one unit in particular the Con-Mech estimate was nearly $700 cheaper for the exact same unit the 5 star Yelper who does "free estimates" gave me! Beyond beating the pants off others price wise, Yudel was highly responsive via texts to the many many questions I had (he responded at all hours of the day/evening/weekend) and jumped through hoops to get the unit installed ASAP when the building management made it nothing short of a nightmare! Fyi, he was willing to install after 5pm or on Sunday or the holiday at no addl charge! I've heard of this for repairs but never for the replacement of an entire system! As far as the install, it was done in just a few hours when no one was home (that's how much we had grown to trust him!) and other than walking into a unit that was cooler than we'd left it, you couldn't tell anyone had even been there! The place was COLD AND SPOTLESS! Thanks, Yudel! You made what started out as an absolutely excruciating process painless!"

"It was expensive but he did a lot of things for us! He was prompt, came when he said he would and completed the whole job when he said he would. He put all new duct work in my attic after removing the insulation to smoke out the rats and then even did new soffits. He gave us a 5 year warranty and had another company come and blow in new insulation. Other companies were only ever able to do temporary fixes but with him, we feel we got it taken care of finally."
