"I highly recommend Lenâ s company Trilite. The process of replacing my brick with stone veneer went so smoothly. Since Trilite was the manufacturer and the installer in my project, I was able to choose from a myriad of stone and colors. The quality and workmanship of the masons was above and beyond what I expected. The stone is beautiful and it was all done in a timely manner and at a fair price. For stone veneer this is the place!!"

"We love our new windows, and we would highly recommend the company! Everything from the initial estimate/sales set-up through final installation has been so professional and well-done. We initially reached out a few years ago to get estimates on windows for the entire house (along with a few other companies), and with Craftsmen, we never felt pressured or like anyone wasted our time with an annoying sales pitch. We decided to wait, and we reached back out at the end of 2020 to get updated estimates. They still had all of our information and were very helpful and prompt at getting updated totals. We had some concerns with ordering (as it was in the early days of the pandemic) depending on regional closures or delays, and they were reassuring and flexible with our plan. During the installation process, everyone was so professional. Often with outside contractors, people default communicating with my husband, yet I'm the one coordinating, so it can often be frustrating, but that was absolutely not the case with Craftsmen. Everyone was very kind and respectful no matter who they were talking with. Besides just getting all of our windows replaced, we also had a large wall cut out and a custom window added, which we were a bit nervous how that would go with our stucco, and it turned out beautifully, and it was such a nice relief to know that no matter what - the crew would handle it. It was quite the undertaking and a very large investment from us, but it was so worth it for how beautiful everything looks inside and out and how seamless the process went."

"Mike did a beautiful job matching and replacing my leaning chimney to the roofline. The 100 yr old brick doesn't exist anymore and what he found to come close worked out perfectly. He's very honest ,detailed and really listened to me. He took excellent care to get things done right. Very tidy and even saved my beloved blueberry bush from peril ."

"Scott's crew has further enhanced the patio they built.  Our wood deck had to be removed to build the stone patio which left unfinished walls.  Scott suggested stone veneer and once again created a fabulous look.  The stone on the walls really compliments the patio.  We are so happy with the entire project! <br />"

"Kevin and his crew performed A+ work.  I had concerns about water getting behind my wall and frost heave, EZ Masonry came up with a solution and completed the job in one day.  Would absolutely recommend them and if further masonry work is needed they will be my first and only call."

"A little bit rocky at first and it took a good 5 weeks before we able to get our fireplace installed correctly. In Oct. of 2014 we had problems with the pilot light and they had to com e out and service it. We had a crack in the upper housing, which was repaired in 2015. In Sept. of 2016 they had to put in a new module because when we started it up there was no flame. In the end we are very happy with it and Jeff was wonderful to work with, through all the problems."

"Unfortunately, fall came late this year, and the leaves didn't fall from the trees in my yard until late November, while the deal closing date was in early November.  I thus contacted the provider after the closing date, and offered to pay more, if needed, to get the job done.  On the plus side, the provider managed to fit in the work at short notice and performed the required work adequately.  On the negative side, he was very hostile in his responding e-mail and in a phone call I made to him, saying things like "this is not a game to me, I am not calling again"; he seemed very upset that he had not gotten an earlier response from me to schedule the service (he had e-mailed twice, in early September) and had called when I wasn't home, long before I was ready to have the work done. I appreciate that he didn't charge extra after the end of the deal date and made a special effort to get the work done quickly, before the temperature dropped, but I would not use this service again because of his hostility in our e-mail and phone interactions.  It doesn't make sense to have my gutters cleaned before the leaves fall off the trees in my yard, and I prefer to work with a provider who is more comfortable in being flexible about scheduling the work."

"Maybe they do amazing work, I have no idea. I called 3 times over the course of 2 weeks and submitted requests for estimates twice. I spoke with someone 2 or 3 times on the phone and each time I was either told to go submit a request on the website or that he remembered my note and would go find it and email me with a time to set up an appointment asap. It never went any farther than that. If you are too busy or have other things going on and can't respond, that's totally understandable but please just say so so I don't waste my time. I'm rating a C b/c I'm going on the assumption that SOMETHING was going on that would legitimately explain this otherwise inexcusable behavior."

"Terry (the owner) responded right away and gave us a reasonable estimate. He noticed the chimney was not properly capped, so in addition to tuck-pointing he installed a lovely limestone cap to protect the brick. He came back the next day and washed and scrubbed the residual mortar off the brick. Beautiful job. I would definitely hire Twin Cities Masonry again."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Milaca, MN

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
