"On the morning of February 8th, 2021, I awoke to a cold house and instantly panicked. My furnace had stopped working and I went through one horrible senario after another - frozen pipes, ruined interior, etc. The outside temperature was in the single digits, and I assumed the inside temperature would soon match it. I Googled furnace repair and the first name on the list was Kobella's. They had the best rating and found out why. Mike T. and his partner Bobby replaced my furnace and got my heat back with a minimum of disruption to my daily life. Mike showed up at 8:30 am on the 8th, carefully examined the furnace, pronounced it DOA with a detailed explanation as to why, and suggested two different models of new furnaces. He managed to get the old furnace running for one more night and left me four space heaters to protect me and the house in case the furnace failed during the night. The next day Mike and Bobby showed up promptly at 8:30 pm and replaced the furnace, installed new duct work, sealed it, installed a new thermostat and showed me how to use it, all in about 5 hours. "Having used Apple Heating and Cooling in the past, I continue to be impressed with the professionalism of the people, from the office to the installers.  Because the outdoor unit was being relocated, there were certain access issues related to running the electric and line set connections (the house has no basement).  They were able to re-route all the connections to the outside unit without having to open up any finished interior walls or ceilings.  The price wasn't the lowest bid received, but was very competitive.  Overall, very pleased with the installation and equipment."

"The technician arrived promptly, near the beginning of the time window (he actually would have been earlier except for a flat tire).  He reviewed the site and explained the process.  He then went about his work very professionally.  Mr. Sejas took time to show me the condition of our duct work, given that in 26 years in the house we had never had then cleaned.  We had always made sure that the system filters were either cleaned or replaced on a scheduled basis and had, for a number of years in the 90s, used cheesecloth inside the vents to reduce dust, but our system was in pretty bad shape.
The work consist of blowing air through the ducts at 250 psi and capturing/removing the dust particles at the furnace. It is noisy a each vent must be visited, but there is no reason to stay in the same room or even same area of the house as the technician. The dryer vent cleaning I did not observe, but he worked at both ends, at the dryer and the outside vent.
He advised that we run our system fan during the day, changing to auto setting at night, or at least any time there was a lot of activity in the house that would stir up dust.  This allows the air filtration system to do it job and clean the air - something that had never occurred to me. He also recommended repeating the service every 3-4 years  if after checking the intake duct, it appeared as dust was building up again.
The impetus for having the service done was my HVAC company's technician who, while performing routine maintenance, called me down to the basement and showed my the large pile of dust that had formed at the base of the duct system.  He said forget about the dust, it is the excrement of the dust mites that live in it that can cause respiratory discomfort.  He also warned me to make sure about the  company I hired to do the work, hence my checking Angie's List and getting a discounted price. Since Lowe's came in and cleaned the ducts the inside air is noticeably fresher.. ONE piece of advice. If you are going to have your ducts cleaned do it before you change your air filter, not after. Even with the removal of dust by their equipment, the filter was full of dust - and was brand new because of the recent HVAC service. So I paid twice for a filter when I could have paid once.

"Purchased through Costco which uses Weatherking as their local contractor. The Costco purchase involved a little more paper work and payment upfront but saved 10% and was explained upfront and was a smooth transaction. Sales and Techs were all very professional. Sales was clear and provide multiple options and was not pushing the highest price one. Install went smoothly and was started and completed on time. They came back a couple months later to start the AC since the it was too cold during the install and were able to do so quickly after I called to schedule."

"Jim did a great job. He quickly assessed the problem and then took our unit with him to work on it more. When he got back to us, the fix would have cost more than it was worth. He gave us options for a new or refurbished PC. We felt the refurbished was a good deal and chose that. He came back and set that up and we are very happy with it. He then took a look at my laptop and again took it along. He tuned it up and installed a speed upgrade we wanted. Of course, we paid extra for the new unit and upgrades, but we thought the price was very fair. Jim seemed very knowledgeable and responsive. We will definitely call him again if we need any computer services."
