"Landry repaired on site the hanging buttons on my sofa. I was extremely grateful to have this efficiently done in my home and the sofa looks great. I am also in the process of using this service to replace wall to wall carpeting in a bedroom. Mr. Landry is knowledgeable and easy to work with. Thank you."

"The service turned out very well and we were very pleased. Positive part was she's the first interior decorator we had ever consulted with that she made the process very easy. She's very friendly, open person, it was easy to talk to her and she gave us feedback that was very practical that we were able to follow up on. For example in helping us choose paint colors than look at it at paint stores. She's very professional."

"Just OK. After they left we had a lot of flies in the house. We would kill 25-30 a day. They need to find a better way than to just open our house open for such a long tome. They also broke our blinds in one of our bedrooms and did not fix it or even tell us about it. We found out after they were gone."

"During Hurricane Sandy two trees in our back yard fell on our house making a hole in our roof, tearing off our siding, going through our large dining room window and damaging our deck. I hired Neponset Valley Construction to handle all the repairs (except the window replacement). NVC was a pleasure to work with. Their director of operations, John, came over shortly after the hurricane and went over exactly what should be done. He provided me with a very competitive price, not the lowest, but far from the highest. He wrote up a very detailed quote and told me that he could work with the insurance adjuster to make sure the settlement was fair. When the adjuster came in with a figure lower than expected, John was able to convince him to come up with another $4000 to do the job properly. Due to winter weather, I had a slight problem getting NVC to commit to a starting date, but once the snow melted a bit, they went full force. The workers were all very professional and friendly and they worked very quickly with large crews. They came early, worked late, and kept to the job until it was finished. They also did some other small repair work around my home unrelated to the storm damage. The workmanship was first rate. They did a great job of cleaning up after the job was done, even going over my lawn with a magnet to get any nails that might have fallen.
I would highly recommend NVC! After seeing the quality of their work, I am having them put new siding and a deck on another house I own and will call them first for any future work needed.

"I never contacted the provider or used this service in anyway. I have to
write this review so that the request to write this review stops
popping up.
The rating is bogus as it is required to be able to submit.

"They are very thorough.  There's no doubt that if we have the budget to entrust the job to them, they will do an excellent job.  These people are really specialist.  They are the people you leave with your antique window.  They gave us multiple options for the window restoration.  They were very helpful.  They were very professional."

FAQs for blinds or shades repair projects in Newburyport, MA

If you're wondering whether repairing your blinds is worth it, consider the quality and age of your blinds. For high-end or custom blinds, repairing them can preserve their quality, functionality, and design, making repair a smart choice. Immediate repairs maintain the original look and performance. However, if your blinds are over six years old, extensively damaged, or of lower quality, replacing them might be more cost-effective, as new blinds offer better efficiency and modern technology. Weigh the repair costs against the benefits of replacement to make the best decision for your situation.

When damage undermines the integrity and appearance of your blinds, replacement becomes the clear option. You should replace your blinds when damage to slats or fabric prevents you from obtaining an exact match, thereby compromising appearance and function. Severe damage increases repair complexity and expense. Replacing blinds not only restores superior performance but also creates an opportunity for aesthetic upgrades and lasting benefits.

You should plan to replace your blinds at least every 10 years, with clear signs of wear, such as discoloration, deterioration, or functional issues, emerging by five years. Regular evaluation of style, quality, and performance supports an informed decision. While minor repairs may temporarily extend usability, a complete replacement secures optimal operation and updated design.

Establish a regular maintenance routine to keep your blinds looking and functioning their best. Clean them regularly with mild, specialized products and follow the manufacturer's recommended usage guidelines. UV-blocking window film can protect against fading and warping from sun exposure. Regular inspections and proactive maintenance will preserve their appearance and performance, extending their overall lifespan.

If you pull the blind string and it does not move, it indicates a malfunction in the mechanism, such as a broken cord, a jammed cord lock, or a stuck component. Inspect the string for breaks and examine the headrail for any obstructions. Replace the defective cord or cord lock as necessary to restore proper operation and maintain functionality.

Yes, you can replace your blind string yourself by using a replacement kit available at home improvement stores. Accurate measurement of the string diameter is essential for a perfect fit. Gather the necessary tools and follow the manufacturer’s instructions rigorously to secure a safe, lasting fix. If the task demands more time than anticipated, hiring a professional is advisable to avoid further damage.
