"Don’t call any other contractors! Carlos can do absolutely everything! We had soft flooring in our bathroom near our toilet and after another company told us there was no problems, Carlos came out and immediately tore up the flooring and removed the toilet to reveal a leak in the sub flooring and mold behind the walls! He was able to return after letting the exposed flooring dry within the SAME WEEK! And replaced the flooring in the bathroom as well to avoid any future problems. While fixing this one problem he discovered a leak from our kitchen sink underneath our home which he fixed as well! He also fixed our main water valve as it was rusted over! The next week, Carlos came back to do the kitchen flooring for us as well while also installing support underneath our heavy sliding door to our patio! Next week he came to do our second bathroom flooring! And the next week even through the holidays he came by to install led lighting underneath our kitchen cabinets as well as change three of our outlets to GFCI! If you’ve got any home problems whatsoever Carlos is your guys! Whatever you need done he can get done for the BEST PRICES! "We had 2 contractors bid out the work while we were under contract. We essentially knew the major items we wanted to address but also realized things would pop up. Geoff met with us very shortly after we contacted him. We selected Premier (and the other contractor) because of their high ratings on Angie's list. Both did a detailed analysis of the scope of work and asked a considerable amount questions. Geoff was first to provide his bid. We had to wait an additional 2 weeks for the other contractor to submit his (and we had to keep asking for it). The bids were substantially the same. Our main concern was that we were going to be absent for the majority of time the work was being done, only coming in on every other weekend. We needed to hire someone who we had confidence in quarterbacking the substantial work we planned (replace 2,000 sf of tile, reconfigure 2 closets into one and add California closet inserts to all bedroom closets, block off a door and large bay window, add substantial amount of stacked stone, remodel an entire guest bath, partially remodeled the master bath, repaint interior and exterior, not to mention various other work) when we were not there every day to oversee. Geoff gave us that confidence after meeting with him several times. We hired Premier and his team did an outstanding job. They completed the work on a timely basis with high quality workmanship. All of the sub-contractors were courteous (when we met them) and very clean. The demo of the existing tile was a dusty endeavor so they shut down the HVAC and put up visqueen to protect from dust especially in the kitchen. There was multiple folks working on various jobs throughout. I never felt like we lost any work time (which was our concern since we had a hard move-in date). One week prior to the moving van appearing the California closets were still on order and we got nervous. Geoff bird dogged the order which showed up two days before the move date. He had the install team in the next day. When we arrived with 20,000 pounds of stuff the day after, the closets were completely finished. That was huge! I could go on but I think you get the point. Geoff takes this very seriously and he was a true partner throughout the process. I highly recommend Premier."

The first worker was messily doing questionable quality work & taking longer than estimated to do it. It took another worker refusing to put their name on it for HC to take my concerns about quality seriously. Got a new person in who demoed everything to start over. R-value measures how well insulation resists heat flow, which directly affects your home's energy efficiency. The higher the R-value, the better the insulation. By calculating the R-value needed for your specific climate and home design, you can choose the right insulation materials and thickness to keep your home comfortable and reduce heating and cooling costs.
You don't need to remove your old insulation before adding new insulation, as long as it's in good condition. Adding new insulation over existing materials can improve your home's energy efficiency. For example, you can install blown-in insulation around fiberglass batts or place rigid insulation over existing layers to enhance the overall R-value. However, if your current insulation is wet, moldy, or damaged, you should remove it to avoid health risks and maintain optimal performance.
Installing insulation typically takes five to twelve hours for batts or boards, and two to five hours for spray foam or blown-in insulation. The exact time depends on the type of material and your home's layout. If you need to remove old insulation, have a larger home, or hard-to-reach areas, the project may take longer.
The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors has said foam board insulation can last up to 100 years if properly installed. Some insulation materials can suffer from water damage or start to sag over many years, thus reducing their insulating ability. Foam boards shouldn't suffer from sagging but have the potential to get damaged. Any broken pieces of foam board can reduce its insulating effectiveness.
