"Tom and his team were wonderful to work with. They not only explained every step of the way to me, but they worked with me, and got me the best system for my home at an affordable price. The installation was seamless, and the crew cleaned up everything afterwards. I cannot say enough great things about Papa T’S Heating and Air from the first call to the end of the install and beyond. "Dustin did a superb job, taking my outside unit apart and cleaning it better than anyone has ever done in my 22 years living in my house. He has been the most thorough of any air conditioning service tech I have ever had at my house. Utmost professional, knows his business and an ultimate pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend using Prudhom Air for your air conditioning needs."

"9 hours- twice as long as expected. The old tank was impacted with over a foot of silt so they had to siphon the water out the top (not their fault). That alone put them behind by 2 hours. Then they had trouble getting the new up-to-code flu installed (their fault). But the team stuck with it and got everything in properly, instead of cutting corners or leaving it half-done and returning the next day."

"Of course this happened on a Saturday, called Charle, and he was at my house first thing Sunday, May 13, 2018 which was Mothers Day, btw!!! My compressor is old, so he put a starter kit on it to help it work longer...if,course I understand it's an older unit, even tho Charlies replaced quite a few parts over the last several years. He also emptied out a pipe on the garage that had accumulated dome backup. All was working fine. Went to check on it around 4pm same day, and the pipe was really leaking, when the unit was running. Hated to have to call Charlie again, he was at another customers house, and came back over when he was done. He worked ALL DAY on Sunday May 13, 2018!!! He found the pipe needed the shop vacation to duck out all the gunk, then as all was cleaned out, he sealed with some pipe glue. So very Grateful for Charlie, his ethics, honesty, knowledge...my air working great so far!! I most Highly recommend Charlie, and wouldn't even THINK of calling anyone else!!!! Charlie truly is true professional, and most defiantly puts himself in the customers shoes!!!! Thank YOU Charlie, Once Again!!!"

"Within one hour of posting the need on Angie's list, Browns tech was at our door. He found the problem quickly and instructed us to have our electrical supplier come replace their thermostat. We had an additional thermostat that he helped with placing. I would recommend to everyone!"

"This was my first time using a contractor based on an Angie?s List listing, and though I was a bit apprehensive about it, the Angie?s List service did what I was hoping that it would do: it ensured a very smooth contractor experience.
Jill at Handyman Matters corresponded with me via email, which was excellent. That allowed a minimum amount of time needed for coordination. She was also very flexible on the installation date because I was awaiting the arrival of the special-ordered garbage disposal at the local Lowe's outlet. Once I picked up the item at Lowe's, I emailed Jill to let her know that I was ready to schedule the installation. She was able, amazingly, to schedule it for two days later.
Armando showed up right on time at our home to install the component, after first uninstalling the old disposal. He had a difficult time fitting the new disposal onto the existing mounting ring (which was also practically brand-new, which is why we chose not to install the new mounting ring that came with the new disposal). He also was required to install the cord from the old disposal onto the new disposal (we both knew that ahead of time).
There was one point where Armando could have left the new disposal "precariously mounted" and that would have been adequate. However, he remarked that "he wanted to do it right" and continued to wrestle with the installation of the new disposal on the mounting ring until he finally got a good, snug fit. I was VERY impressed with that particular facet of Armando's installation process.
I knew going in that there would be a one-time $50 service charge included in the final bill, and though I am unsure of what that is all about, I paid it without hesitation; the price paid match the price quoted before the installation at the time of scheduling the appointment. My gut reaction is that the service charge allows the company to remain competitive with other similar companies. Other than the one-time service charge, I think that the final bill was fair, charging the amount of labor that was required (2 hours). Part of that time was filled by Armando having to visit our local hardware store to pick up a needed extender tube with clamps because he had to cut off part of the existing tubing to fit the new disposal correctly. Once again, I was very impressed by his desire to "do the job right." He could have left part of the drain tube resting against the disposal, but I was very pleased to see that he ensured that this did not happen (thus preventing the disposal from vibrating against the drain tube during operation).
Finally, Armando did a cleanup of the work area and then checked the new disposal for proper operation. He also gave me some much-needed tips about the use of the new disposal that should extend its life considerably.
Oh . . . I also asked Armando to take a quick look at one of our three toilets that had leaked water onto the floor a couple of weeks ago (we had shut off its water supply so that Armando could then look at it for us). He did a thorough inspection of it and then turned on its water supply. We both watched for any leaks but could find none. Armando told me what to watch for and how to let Handyman Matters know the specifics if it were to leak again. Basically, he restored the use of this toilet to us without any additional charge, etc. by doing a professional re-enabling of its water supply and then monitoring it briefly for leaks.
We will definitely use Handyman Matters again in the future whenever the need arises and were very impressed with their quality of service. We have nothing negative to say about them, which is a rarity in today's business environment. We will also always request that Armando be our service technician for any future visits if he is available.

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Oklahoma City, OK

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
