"After discovering our second floor base board water pipes froze, we had to remove sections of our ceiling to thaw the pipes. We discovered our remodel contractor had not insulated the ceiling joist/soffit area. I called Seal-It on a Wednesday morning, and was instructed someone would call me back shortly. Not even 5 minutes later I was speaking with their estimator Greg. A hour later I met him at my house. He was able to provide a verbal estimate right there, and provided a written estimate the following morning before 7AM. We scheduled the install for the following Monday. Greg met the crew at our house Monday morning, discussed the approach with his team and I present. There were several difficult areas to access and this required a significant amount of prep time. The two installers were very courteous, professional, and protective of our home (even wearing slip on boot covers to not track in excess dirt), and kept me informed of their progress from stage to stage. They went above and beyond my expectations for the areas covered. <br /> Given that this service was not something I was planning to do - it was an emergency repair - I was prepared to be very frustrated along the way. Seal-It insulation was a bright spot in this stressful time. Its so refreshing dealing with true professionals. <br />"

"workers doing the job were excellent. When I was finally given a second date they showed up on time and went right to work. The person that came out and gave me the estimate no longer works for the company. I got charged a little more as the owner said that the employee giving the estimate did not include an area. There were other areas that I was charged for but they could not do. They were supposed to show up a few weeks prior to when they actually showed up. Got a call the day they were supposed to show up by the owner stating his employees had all gone out the night before and got food poisoning. When they did show up. 2 weeks later I asked how they were feeling. They had no idea what I was talking about. Come to find out a crew had been let go. Then just tell me that I would understand.. Anyway, the energy auditor came back in and found a few spots that were not filled in properly. The crew came back but did not fill in the correct spots. At this point I just let it go. The gentleman who Home snuggers hired to do the basement portion of the work did a fantastic job... Professionalism was rated as fair due to owner not the workers. Responsiveness rated D due to numerous calls with no return calls. I have read other reviews and I am sure that the owner will render his own version. But all said and done they did a good job"

"LR Higgins turned our attic into living space with a half-bath, bedroom, living area and good-sized storage closet. The job involved insulation, wiring, plumbing, windows, sheetrock, flooring -- the whole bit. They worked with us to keep the project within our budget and met our desired completion date. The many crews on the job were respectful, competent, and just plain nice. Eric and Brian provided regular oversight as the project progressed. Great job!"

"Rook was very professional. They arrived when they said they would and worked quickly and with minimal mess. Tim was great at ensuring that Rook worked around our schedule and that we had everything we needed. The insulation work was for all attic space over livable areas (everything except the garage). It included blown-in cellulose (~15 in depth) and spray foam where needed. After the work was completed they performed an energy audit and addressed any remaining issues. The work qualified for money from Efficiency Maine which took $1,000 off the total. <br /> There was one instance where the ceiling around a recessed light was cracked a little (about half an inch around the light). Rook took full responsibility and patched up the ceiling."

"It went very well. I have used Fortin in the past for replacing windows and siding and wanted to use them again for the roof. Ron Cordon is very knowledgeable and is very good at explaining the pros and cons of all options to help us come to the best decision for the job. "The first day of the attic insulation went pretty smoothly, although there was a late arrival and start. ( It happened to be the day our city decided to block off our side of the street to do some digging to replace and clear sewer pipes, and, paving0.  When the insulation project was finished, everything was cleaned and put back into place.  The contractor and crew were polite and considerate and very efficient. <br /> The following day, the sub-contractor arrived late because of the confusion of a street filled with city vehicles that were continuing their street projects that included underground rain water pipes.  Once they were able to park and begin work, things went smoothly, until, the head of the two-man team informed me in mid afternoon that they had miscalculated the amount of foam needed and would have to return.  He was very apologetic and assured me that they would get to it as soon as possible.  I must add that these two fellows were working one of the hottest days of the year (in the 90's outside!) and really got a work out without complaint.  I was impressed with their diligence. <br /> Drew, the Earthlight representative contacted me immediately to apologize and let me know that they would work around my complicated schedule to get the job done.  That finally did happen over 2 weeks later as we all had to juggle our schedules.  I was grateful that they allowed me to be in charge of re-scheduling for my convenience.  <br /> After the basement job was completed, Drew returned to replace a broken light that had been damaged when the first basement crew hit it in the half-crawl space, and completed the inspection of their work.  The second basement crew had left another light on and forgot to replace my basement screen, but everything else looked good. <br /> In my opinion, from my introduction, this was a professional and knowledgeable group of workers.  There were no cost overrides in spite of the miscalculation, and in fact, was less than the estimate by $175.  Added to that, Drew will handle the application for my state rebate, which will also be more than anticipated. <br /> Things do not always work out as planned, but I realized long ago that the professionals know how to handle any glitches or situations that may arise.  These are professionals.  I have already planned to have Earthlight do another job in the upcoming months.  Having worked with contractors personally and as a real estate broker for over 30 years, this is one of the finest, knowledgeable contractors I have ever encountered and I would recommend them highly -- as soon as my other project is completed! <br />"
