"Computer had been acting up for a while but I kept putting off getting it fixed.  After reading all the great reviews, I decided to give N.A.T.S. a call.  So glad I did.   Jim was able to resolve all my problems remotely - no drop off or pick up necessary - so convenient!  I feel like I have a brand new computer, it runs so well and FAST too.  I couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to use his services again.  My only regret is that I didn't call him sooner.

"Someone came out the day before to see where the furnace was going to be installed. He suggested we go with a slightly larger unit for the size of our house, but we opted to go with the unit that was included in the deal.
Two men came out and installed the A/C and furnace. They told us they would be done with everything in about 4 hours, and kept pretty close to that. The furnace and A/C are both working perfectly so far.
We were mostly very happy with the company and the men who installed our units. There were only a couple minor annoyances. Our old furnace was incredibly rusty inside, and when they removed it from the house, they left a trail of rust and dirt from the basement to the front yard (including through our living room). They did not offer to clean it up, but left it for us to deal with. They also broke a light bulb in the basement and didn't get all the pieces cleaned up.

"My air conditioner decided to go out at the end of an excessive heat warning in my area. I looked around on Angie's list and found Gant heat and cooling. I am sure glad I did. When I called him and he asked a couple of question to see if I could do a quick check on somethings and fix it myself. Well I could not. He came out within 45 minutes of me calling and was done in about 15 mins. He communicated the problem and told me what he was going to do. Extremely nice and knowledgeable and a Air Force Veteran. I highly recommend this company for all heating a cooling needs. I will definitely use him again for any future needs. The picture below shows what he replaced"

"I had a lot of additional cost. It ended up at $1500. They only cleaned three, for the big deal. And then, I had a thing that they put in to make sure that the air stays clean. They said I had a humidifier on my furnace and they said that it had to come off. And then, they said you can get a much better one and then they kind of disappeared and they didn't talk about it or really sit down and have a conversation with me. I'm not even sure why they had to take it off or what they did."

"

Estimate: Darin came out and looked over my system.  I had the furnace replaced last year and he showed me how the system was installed improperly with restricted air flow with undersized filter assembly.

Contractor selection: After receiving estimates to replace the AC system and to fix the air flow problem, I decided to go with Energy Stars of St Louis in Dittmer, MO because of the knowledge and professional care.

Installation:  Darin and Eric showed up on time at 8am in the morning.  They went right to work and kept working until the project was done.  The install took longer than they thought because they found the furnace vent tee was damaged and that it needed to be replaced along with a large section of the return air duct.

The work included removing and replacing the coil, condenser, line set, filter housing, condenser fuse box and minor duct work.  Additional work included replacing the furnace vent tee, return air duct and repairing some other ductwork.  Even though they did this additional work there were no additional charges or fees.  I like that!

Darin and Eric were very friendly,  great with the install and setting up of the system.   I am very pleased with the install and their professionalism.  They cleaned up after themselves and left the work areas just as they found it.  Most of all the install was to code with high quality and professional care and a permit was pulled.  I would highly recommend Energy Stars of St Louis.

"New installation went well. I was a little upset that only 50% was covered being that the unit was 19 years old. I'm sure that parts for something that old would be hard to find. Replacement was recommended."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Pacific, MO

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
