"Professionally handled by the installers. The were on time, cleaned up any mess around the house. I notice now in the early stages of fall that the temperature of the house has been holding steady as a result of the whole house insulation."

"Excellent work. Work was done inn 2016, but I was sick at the time and didn't write a review. They installed cellulose insulation in attic and a few overhead crawl spaces that they had to contort themselves to get into. House has been much warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Plus, ice melt and water leaking above laundry room was solved. Added baffles to overhang, wrapped recessed lights. Was professional job all around."

"Nick spoke with me on the phone and explained the ins and outs of insulation. He explained the difference between cellulose and foam. With his expertise, and his thorough quote, we felt very comfortable hiring EST for the job. We were able to schedule quickly. Neither my husband nor I was able to be home when the crew arrived on the first day, so Nick took a picture of his vehicle in the driveway and messaged me as soon as they were on the property. The first day the crew was to work was raining. They completed the work inside in the basement first. They completely cleaned up after themselves and left very little mess (just a bit of dust that was only felt because of bare feet). The second day they came back to complete the outdoor work. Although I was at work as they were at my home, I would never have known that they had been at my home. Unfortunately for them, they were not able to complete the job the second day. We scheduled a third day for them to return, and even though we were having a family gathering at our house, they came, completed the work, and completely cleaned up before our company arrived. Nick, Ben, and the rest of the crew were incredibly professional, friendly, and completed the job well. We would recommend EST Insulation to anyone planning to insulate their homes!"

"The attic insulation and other tasks were done in less than an hour.  All indoor work was completed.  Outdoor work was deferred due to cold weather.  Work was performed as promised.  After paying the bill, Jerry called back right away and informed us of an over payment.  He had a check in the mail the next day. <br />"

"Taking advantage of Dominion's home energy audit/rebate program through their contractor, Good Cents, we had an audit done in July and received estimates from 3 different companies.  We were prepared to go with Kilroy, but they kept pushing the date back so when Berry followed up and offered to price-match, we chose to proceed with them instead.  They began the job on 11/9, insulating half of the sidewalls.  They returned on 11/10 and because it was raining that day, they stayed for only 3 hours and insulated the attic slopes, inserting plenty of baffles for air circulation, and also sealed the band joists and around the chimney in the basement.  They promised to return on 11/11, but called that morning to say they wanted to change this to 11/13.  Like most households with working people, our schedules were already in a state of chaos to accommodate them, so we were unhappy with this last minute change and asked them to come that day as planned.  They sent out a different crew who finished the other half of the sidewalls, then came indoors, set up the blower door and caulked around windows.  The attic hatch was to be weather-stripped and they were unsure of how to do this, and ended up simply applying a thin piece of gummy adhesive (which is already falling off) that we could have easily done ourselves.  This item was an extra $30 and is not subject to rebate.  There was a big draft in the closet next to the chimney and their opinion was that a hole would need to be cut in the attic floor in order to seal the chimney chase.  That sounded extreme so we asked for someone else's opinion on that and in the end a piece of drywall was installed in the closet ceiling which was a very good solution.  This and other work was completed by Kevin who had given the original estimate.  We communicated mostly by email and although he was unresponsive for 8 days around Thanksgiving, he did return on 11/20 and 12/3 to install weather-stripping on two doors, to seal the furnace and ducts with mastic, and to seal around the attic exhaust fan and chimney at the attic floor with expanding foam.  He also repaired a hole in another closet where the sidewall crew had drilled through the wall, and repositioned a row of siding which had slid out of place after not being properly hooked to its nails.  We later had to pick about a dozen circular pieces of wood out of the landscaping and also scrape expanding foam off the siding.   <br /> With an original time estimate of "hopefully two days", the resulting five days seemed excessive.  Our credit card was charged on 11/24, well before the job was actually completed.  The personnel were professional and friendly, and conscientious about wearing booties in the house, as well as laying down plastic for the hallway carpet while working in the attic.  But overall we felt that this company did not really seem to have their act together and that if we weren't diligent, the job would not have been done properly, if finished at all.  We assume that everything was done correctly in the end, but Good Cents has not yet returned for their final testing.  In fact, they informed us that their 2015 rebate funds are now depleted so we are on a waiting list for next year.  It's hard not to wonder if we would now be getting our rebate if the job hadn't taken almost a month to complete. <br />"

"Three installers came, Lee and Dave and I think Brian.  They worked efficiently and cleanly.  Setting plastic on all carpeted areas.  They brought own ladders and equipment.  Informed us as they worked on what they were doing and showed us exactly what was being done.  They asked us whenever they had to change the prescribed plan for permission to processed.  Extremely professional and courteous and cleaned up after the job was done.  Did not even know they were there.  <br />  When they had inadvertently switched off the attic furnace, we called when we realized it.  Dustin came out immediately, fixed it. <br />"

"I own a 1927 home that had cellulose blown in approximately 20 years ago into the attic and walls. I had contacted USA insulation, Foam of Akron, Lucas Insulation, and one other company which escapes me. Lucas insulation did not return my phone calls after I left a voice mail and also spoke with someone. I was told that in order for them to give me an estimate after 4 p.m. on a weekday that it would be up to the salesman since it was after hours. Not sure how they expect to do business when people are at work. USA Insulation gave me a qoute of $4,300 and had a nice presentation and appeared professional. Foam of Akron gave me a qoute of $3,500 and was definitely the more locally owned type of company. In fact the fourth company that I called about the foam recommended Foam of Akron to me since they weren't a franchise and it's basically the same thing. The fourth company did not remove siding.  I chose Foam of Akron based on the price and the view that blowing insulation is the same and I felt the foam is essentially the same. Overall, it was a good choice getting the foam. My house is substantially quiter and you can really notice a difference with the drafts gone and having insulation much higher in the wall cavity. My only concern was that when they removed the siding there was some bedning of the "j" channel around the window. This was remedied but in some places it appears they used a rubber mallet. But this is an older home with aluminum siding so some damage was expected. Overall they were clean but I did find quite a few hole plugs throughout my flower beds. Another point to consider is that if you were to go to the Dominion East Ohio Gas website there is an energy audit program you can have done on your house. Your cost is about $150 and based on the recommendations you can have certain home improvements completed with preapproved contractors and you will get rebates directly from Dominion. USA Insulation is one of those contractors and Foam of Akron is not. Foam of Akron should try to become one of the preapproved contractors. The energy auditor will also come back out after the project (e.g., furnace installation of insulation) and double check the effectiveness and safety of the work. Plus all of the contractors are screened to get on the list. I believe the home insulation maxes out at $200 but it's better than nothing plus your bills will go down."

"The gentleman who called on me seemed more interested in further selling insulation than evaluating the advertised '$99 for Attic Inspection of Insulation, Ventilation, Exhaust Fan, Rodent Activity, Water Damage and More + Report!' For starters, I have blown-in insulation and he came to my house wearing dress shoes and then walking briefly in my attic with nothing covering his shoes. The information he provided was not very useful to me.  Looked more like a set-up for more sales rather than a thorough analysis."
