"They let us know they were no longer in the gutter business. Called a few days in advance to set up a time to do the insulation. They were late and called at 4:45 in the 3:00-5:00 PM window to tell us their truck broke down and they'd be late. Blew in the insulation but didn't coordinate with the roofer about additional sofit vents or put in baffles where the new vents should be added. It was very difficult to communicate with the workers because only one could speak a little english. If all you need is some insulation blown it this company is OK. <br />"

It was not exactly the same kind of stuff that we actually wanted but more of an old-fashioned regular insulation type of thing. "The installation part was a follow up to the energy audit I purchased from them about a month ago. When the auditor team came out, they went through several tests and out of the report, I picked the most cost-effective way to lower temperature to reduce cooling costs. The report recommended additional roof vents and new soffit vents. <br /> When the installer for the vents came out, the guy suggested that I had enough roof vents and only needed soffit vents--8 to 10 to help airflow and let hot air escape from the attic.   This is not what the energy audit recommended and this leads me to believe that the audit was incorrect (the audit cost $100). If an outfit claims to be an expert at energy audit and then the installer comes out to disagree with the audit report, this is troubling. They sure need to get their act together. <br /> I decided to just install the soffit vents and the installers finished the job in about an hour charging me $65 per vent. <br /> I should have used other contractors to install soffit vents since the job involved simply cutting into the ceiling panel and screwing cheap vents--not a complicated work.  I thought the installation cost was too much and I could have used different contractor to do the same job for at least 33% or more less. <br /> I sent off an email to Stellar detailing how I was disappointed; someone called and left a message to address my concerns; I called back and left my message so that we can talk but I never heard back from Stellar again. <br /> My advice to those who are thinking about using Stellar for energy audit or installation is to look at other companies and check reviews and skip Stellar.  But if you do hire Stellar to do the energy audit, have someone else do the installation work. <br /> <br /> <br />"

They were on time, professional, and completed the install faster than expected (~3.5 hours). We had sales pitches from a couple of other bath remodel companies that use sheets of materials to replace tile and they were more expensive and less desireable than what we ended up with using Dixon's Custom Home Solutions. Mr. Dixon came to do the initial estimate. He listened carefully to what we wanted, made some very intelligent suggestions, and submitted his bid. The quality of his person sold me initially and my wife was way impressed upon their first meeting. We supplied the wall tile, floor tile, grout, new bath fixtures(optional), and Mr. Dixon and his partner did the demo, and then installed plumbing, electrical, tile, grout and exhaust fan vent through the roof. Very concientous about dust and dirt. Very personable people to work with. Tried to be as unintrusive as was possible doing an upstairs hall bath remodel. The quality of the work accomplish exceeded our expectations. Mr. Dixon's attention to detail is most impressive. We consider that the value for what we received was beyond our expectations. We will be recommending Dixon's to as many people as we can. You don't often experience such honesty, intergrity, trustworthiness, and craftsmanship as you work with providers in the home improvement industry; not that they are not present. Mr. Dixon made it a point to have casual conversation with us at different times. During this process we were absent from our home during extended periods during the day. Our home was consistently treated with respect and concern for its contents. The work was accomplished ahead of schedule. Everything was cleaned up. Mr. Dixon walked us through the project for inspection and explained all that was accomplished. He even noted a very insignificant flaw in one wall tile that he had taken pains to correct.
