"These guys saved us during the recent heatwave. I looked for days for someone to come help us service our airconditioner, which was working....except for the cold air part. These guys were so easy to get in touch with and they put us on the schedule for the next day. They took a look and the fix was really easy. They serviced the AC, made some recommendations for future upgrades (but made sure to let us know they weren't emergencies) and left us with a house full of cold air. It was one of the easiest home services we've had in our new house. HIGHLY RECOMMEND."

"The new system was installed in less than a week. The install crew was superb -- on-time, organized, professional, clean (all of my floors, furniture etc. were carefully protected with floor covers and plastic. When the crew was finished they vacuumed and made certain all work areas were clean). I live in a condo complex and the air conditioner compressor is located on the roof and they needed to use a crane to remove the old compressor and install the new one, needless to say I was a bit worried but it went smoothly and took less than thirty minutes to complete the process. At the end of the entire install, Willy the crew supervisor carefully showed me how my system worked (they use NEST thermostats) and it couldn't have been easier to learn. I love the fact that I can adjust my heating and air conditioning using my iPhone when I am away from home. I appreciated that Laura followed up with me at the end of the day and a week later to make certain I was happy with the system and to see if I had any questions or concerns relating to how to use the thermostat, etc. Also, Southland Heating and Air Conditioning helped to locate an independent HERS inspector and to coordinate with the city to schedule a final inspection by the city. Truly, I haven't had such an outstanding experience with any other type of contractor, or service company. From start to finish this is a First-Rate company. Most importantly, though I love the new HVAC system!"

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. "I decided to purchase the Big Deal because my AC unit seemed to be rattling.  The noise was intermittent but it was worrisome. 
UMC Appliance Repair Co. arrived a little late but they called to say they were delayed on a previous job. When they arrived, I told the technician about the noise.  After inspecting the unit, he say that the condenser coil was extremely dirty and he recommended an acid wash.  He asked when the unit had last been serviced.  Since it had been a while since I had had a basic service, I told him to go ahead.  He also said I was a little low on freon so I told him to top it off.  These services added an extra $310 to the Angie's Big Deal.
The AC unit is on the roof.  The technician assured me that the acid wash would not hurt the roof or the plants in my yard.  In order to avoid future acid washes, he recommended servicing the unit 2 times a year. 
The air conditioner is running quietly and efficiently now.  I was unhappy with my old AC service so I will certainly use UMC Appliance Repair in the future.
