"The floors look great, no problem there. Sanding dust was well-contained and cleaned up. However the scheduling (and communication about it) was a problem. The work was finally begun after three delays, totaling nine days, after initially-promised start date. With two of those delays, Larry did not initiate contact; I called him to check when he would arrive. He said delays were caused by family issues and no-show workers. His floor work is great, but time management and communication need to be better."

"iHugh Lobban, the proprietor of Hew's Carpet, is the consummate professional. He is very flexible in scheduling appointments and is willing to work with his customers' schedules to an exceptional degree. Our basement carpet had never been cleaned and was fairly dirty with stains from spilled drinks and food. Mr. Lobban cleaned the carpet with an impressive amount of care and patience. He spot treated numerous troubled areas and was able to nearly completely remove an annoying stain on the light-colored carpet that actually came from fabric dye that resulted from water dripping on a piece of dark furniture from a kitchen leak on the above floor and then down to the carpet. It was clear that he takes great pride in his work.
This was the third time I've used Mr. Lobban and I will definitely be using his services again. I highly recommend him to Angie's List subscribers in the DMV area.

"I cannot say enough good things about Edgemoor Carpet and Flooring, its owner Patrick Sherison, and his team.  We were originally referred to Edgemoor Carpet and Flooring by our real estate agent when we were in the process of selling an elderly relative's home.  Although the home had beautiful hardwood floors, one area in the kitchen was badly worn.  The first flooring company we spoke with recommended that we refinish all the floors in the house in order to match the refinish on the worn area.  That would have been extremely expensive.  Patrick Sherison, on the other hand, worked with us and had his team refinish only the worn section at a fraction of the cost.  The refinish and color match were absolutely perfect!  Based on that work, we contacted Patrick about work in our own home.  He personally came out within a day and gave us excellent advice. Patrick quoted us a price of $8,000 which was very reasonable considering the size of the floor.  However, when he sent us an email quote, it was $7,700.  We were thrilled.  When the work was ready to be done, the team arrived on-time and finished the job in two days.  The men were extremely professional and worked very hard (11 hours the first day).  The work area was kept clean and neat, and they moved our furniture with great care.  We now have gorgeous hardwood floors on our main level. I would not hesitate to use Edgemoor Carpet and Flooring again and would definitely recommend them to family, friends, and neighbors.
