"KBK Landscape was awesome! I met with Cary, KBK's in-house designer in January 2020 to review the project. Cary did a great job listening to our needs and helping us with ideas. Within a few days, Cary had developed some concepts and estimates. This was in contrast to some other well rated Angies List companies which I met with (a total of five companies in January 2020). Several did "back of the envelope" sketches and / or took several weeks to come back with proposals and estimates. In addition, Cary did an excellent job capturing our vision while staying within our budget. In the ensuing months, before and after selecting KBK for our project, Cary was totally engaged and was very responsive and timely to our inquiries. He came out several times to ensure that all measurements were correct and to discuss any changes to our plan, each time providing an updated estimate. After we had locked in KBK, my wife and I met with Jose, the owner, and Cary to review the overall scope of the project and to select plantings. Jose's extensive knowledge of different plants was very helpful to ensure we had the right ones for our space. Because of COVID-19 and the state's mandated shutdown, our project was finally able to break ground in mid-June. KBK's crew was exceptional. The crew of 3 were personable, polite and friendly and worked tirelessly for two weeks. They were on site every day and never got side tracked by another job. The crew did an excellent cleaning up and leaving things in a tidy manner before leaving for the day. Jose was present on most days, working alongside this guys and ensuring the work was executed to plan. Cary also came by on occasion to ensure our satisfaction with the designs execution. Overall, my wife and I are completely satisfied with both the hardscape and landscape work. Every step of the work was done with care and never was rushed nor were corners cut. Our backyard has been transformed from an over grown wasteland into a functional and very inviting space which we plan to enjoy for many years (see before and after pictures). I received an almost immediate response from Tom - who not only listened but responded positively. He didn't even hesitate when I informed him I had done the home-work - and that I would be his primary contact even though this project was solely for my husband! "The job went extremely well. From the initial return phone call to the representative giving us a free home quote through the complete job, we were extremely happy with the results. No more worries about chipped bricks or a hole in our garage chimney cap as an entrance to wildlife. Also the cosmetic improvement which improves the curb appeal of our property. "One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date."
