"After a snafu where roofers covered over our bathroom vents we needed to be sure that issue was fixed as well and upgrade our attic insulation. Todd's consultation was very educational . He gave rationales for all of his suggestions. It did take a long time to get the work done. We had the proposal done Mid March and work was not done until end of May ( NOT related to our availability) . They cleaned up well afterwards. Of course we will not know the full impact of the upgrade until next winter when we can see if ice dams recur ."

"The owner, Rob gave me an estimate and we agreed on a price. He also gave me a verbal guarantee that I would not have "Ice Jams" in my gutters as was in the case of the fiberglass insulation and he also said that he would be on site during the installation. <br /> <br /> A date to do the job was agreed upon between my Roofing contractor (an Angie's List award winner), Select Insulation System and me. <br /> <br /> The Roofing contractor job was to  remove and replace the roof of the whole house. They arrived first, before Select Insulation System to remove the porch roof. A two man crew from the Insulation company arrived to remove the existing fiberglass insulation and spray the foam from the top of the roof. Rob, the owner, never showed up. As they were spraying the foam ,the Crew Chief of the Roofing contractor advised me that they were not spraying enough foam. I did not say anything to the Insulation guys, because I assumed that they knew their job and Rob, had given me a verbal guarantee. In addition I got a complaint from my Roofing Contractor that the  Select Insulations System were putting the old Fiberglass insulation in the Roofing contractor's Dumpester. <br /> <br /> When the Insulators finished spraying, the roofing contractors reroofed the porch. <br /> <br /> Last winter (2010) we had a lot of snow. After the first snow, I begin to see sign of "Ice Jams". I made several calls to Rob at Select Insulation System and left (3)messages. None of the call were returned. I called again early 2011 and he answered the phone. After several addition attempts to get him to come and see the problem. He came with the Installer and saw the "Ice Jams". He has not been back. I called and spoke with him again and he promised to get back with me. I call and left messages and no attempt to resolve my problem. I paid him $1,200 for the Spray Insulation and $600 to my roofing Contractor to remove and replace my roof. My roofing probem is no better now that it was before the spray foam. <br /> <br /> <p><strong>This is a follow up to my complaint regarding Select Insulation.</strong>  Rob Gass, the Owner of Select Insulation came to my home with his Crew Chief, Joe on several occasions to help identify the heat source that was causing the Ice Dams on my roof.  In addition I had the roofing Contractor on site with Rob and myself to determine a plan of action to correct the problem. Rob suggested that I have an Energy Audit preformed of the affected area to determine where there was heat loss and he would pay for the cost. It was agreed between the three parties; Select Insulation, the Roofing Contractor and me that once the Energy Audit was complete the Roofing Contractor would give Select Insulation access (cut holes in the roof and etc.) to the areas that needed additional insulation.</p> <p>For an additional charge, the Roofing contractor added more ventilation to the roof and provided access for Select Insulation. Joe arrived with his assistance and spent most of the day addressing my problem for no additional charge.</p> <p>During the Energy Audit there were several other areas in my home that needed to be better insulated. Because Rob and Joe?s effort to resolve my original problem I contracted them to insulate my rim Joists in my basement for an additional charge. I found Joe and his assistant Grant very pleasant and helpful.</p> <p>I have no evidence of Ice Dams at this point and I am satisfied.</p>"

It was an easy process of working with them and when I had problems with construction and following schematics, they amended documents to make the cost and ease of installation better. bottom line is that the were professionals and I would work with them again."

"UZ Insulation gave a great price for spray-foaming the rim joists of my 60's rambler. They showed up on time and did a reasonably good job of sealing off and preparing the area, primarily with thin poly and painters tape. The spray foam was adequate overall, though the inspector found several areas where it <em> barely</em> passed code, and he even suggested that I have them back out to add to some of the joists. I had a project schedule to keep, however, so I was not able to put everything else on hold in order to do that. <br /> My real complaint with the service is the lack of professionalism of the installers. They did an exceedingly poor job of cleaning up after themselves. They had stapled poly into the floor joists all over the basement and simply ripped down the sheets when they were through. That left staples with bits of plastic behind...all throughout the basement. I had to get a needle-nose out to remove it. I also had to get a ladder out and pull down a bunch of the painter's tape that was still up on the walls. They also left behind used rubber gloves, soda cans, and other random debris... just left it on the floor. They also left an entire roll of poly which I used later in the job. They did a very poor job of sweeping up the foam they shaved off. I also discovered that they had taken and finished a roll of my duct tape without permission. I had plenty of tyvek tape they could have used if they had only asked. I find it odd that they'd run out of tape in their profession. I called their management to complain about the state in which my basement was left, but it fell on deaf ears. <br /> Like I said, overall the rim joists were insulated adequately, but I like using contractors who care about the job and provide good customer service. For this reason I would not use UZ Insulation again. <br />"

"I had work with Dave Langness almost the whole summer just because I didn’t know what I was doing and understanding stuff about insulation and what they had to do. He was very patient with me. He came out and gave me an estimate and I still had many questions and basically go over everything again. He actually came out again to explain to me everything and show me where the vents would come out. I think he went above and beyond and go over everything. His guys did a great job and actually worked overtime into the early evening. I wanted to get the insulation because of the ice damage that I’ve had. The insulation hadn’t been added to in years and years. Since having a new insulation, so far, there’s been no signs yet of ice damage. I’m satisfied."
