"I originally asked Stacey for a quote last March, when I had to have some pipework done under the house and I thought I might be able to roll them in together and save some money. That didn't work out, so I had to put off the renovation. I recently had a hip replaced and am about to have the other replaced and it's very difficult to manage showers with the old setup. I decided to ask Stacey if he was available although it was very short notice. (I think he fit me in within less than three weeks.) Stacey's quote was $7500 and he stayed with this same price although six months had passed. The price included demo, providing and installing hardie board, laying the shower floor, building the shower frame, building a chair-height bench, providing and installing a new toilet and vanity, providing and installing a new light/fan/heat combination, installing miscellaneous bathroom hardware (that I provided - towel rack and toilet paper holder), installing a large mirror (that I provided) to replace the medicine cabinet, providing and installing new floor tile, new shower floor and wall tile including an accent tile, providing and installing new shower fixtures, providing and installed a new glass shower door, providing paint and painting everything that wasn't tiled including the linen closet. (I think that's everything!) The work took just shy of seven days. In everything, Stacey went above and beyond. (I was surprised that he worked with the crew and worked very hard.) Most of all, he managed my expectations very well. I was concerned about the shower door because the only kind I could remember seeing were the frameless, hinged style, and the sliding door he chose had a frame at the top and bottom (not in the middle). At first I really wanted those entirely frameless doors, but thank God he talked me down. In such a small bathroom, they would have been a nightmare. The towel rack that I ordered from that big online retailer arrived with the end open, and Stacey discovered that one of the screws was missing (and the hole stripped), so I'm guessing this item had actually been returned and then re-sent to me. Stacey did a workaround and it looks beautiful. He also was very helpful in guiding me with choices. There are so many choices out there in tiles and paint colors and EVERYTHING that I nearly shut down just trying to pick out accent tile. He provided paint cards so I could choose colors. Finally, he knew I had some blinds in my front window that I had installed improperly and now (recovering from the surgery) am not able to fix myself. He installed these for me as well! I just really couldn't be happier with the work. I highly recommend Calahan Construction. FYI, I asked Stacey if he does floor tile for the rest of the house (he does) and I am looking forward to working with him again on this project in the coming months."

"The Collin Creek Duct Cleaning team did a great job on our home!  As we started up the A/C units for the first time this year, we smelled a bit of dust / mold and a general mustiness in the systems.  We had Collin Creek out to take a look and they identified and cleaned a large amount of dust in the ducts (collected in a large collection bag outside the home) and a bit of mold growth as well.  They performed an antimicrobial treatment where it was required and left the home smelling great.  We appreciate the work they did!

"Installation was great. The service guys were excellent. The salesperson left out a few important details such as the discounts we were able to eventually get and the communication between the service guys and the salesperson was lacking."

"Electrician on Call are absolutely wonderful.  They were here in August or September of 2016.  I had the pull chain to the ceiling fan break off.  I was afraid they were going to have to replace the whole fan but they came out and they were able to install a new pull chain and get it working again.  Completely professional, it was the same electrician that had come before, just couldn't have been nicer.  The only issue I had this time was the technician ran into a more complicated job than they had anticipated before my appointment, so he didn't get here until 2 hours after we had scheduled it.  There was some miscommunication between their front office and the technician.  They thought, in the office, that I was going to have to have some rewiring and so the owner of the company showed up in addition to the technician, thinking that it was going to be a complicated job.  Then found out that it was just a simple installing a new pull chain.  So there was a little bit of miscommunication in terms of what had been relayed and what was really needed.  In terms of getting it fixed and the professionalism of the technician again, couldn't have been nicer.  From what I can recall, the price was like $135.  The personability of the technicians, got in and did the job, finished is what stuck out to me about this company.  It was a simple fix and because he had been here before, you know, I knew him, and like I said, the only snag there was there was just some miscommunication between their office letting the technician know what the job was he was coming to do, it wasn't a rewiring.  I think that they had just miscommunicated what I really needed to have done.  That was the only issue, I mean there was no issue as far as the workmanship, the professionalism, none at all, you know, and those things happen.  I would recommend them to a friend because of the personablility of the technician and seeing what the problem is, getting it fixed, and both times I don't think he was able to accomplish everything within an hour. "

"It went great.   I would definitely recommend DND Heating and Air to my friends , it was a positive experience.  I took my time with this purchase and I interviewed probably 10 A/C companies in North Dallas.   David was different , he was down to earth and honest and gave me his price straightaway. He offered a lower priced unit to start but we decided on the better Bryant Preferred Series System.  The day of the installation his team arrived promptly, were very polite and worked diligently all day.  I asked them to complete the 1 1/2 day job in 1 day as I could not be available on the 2nd day.   They cleaned up meticulously after the installation (my attic is the cleanest its ever been!).  They also reviewed all the system features and did everything we asked. David spent a-lot of time on the job and made sure everything was perfect.  Also, David's bid was the best priced package deal of all the dealers I interviewed.  In one case he was $7000 lower, so it pays to shop around.

Tips for shopping:  Most of the salesman have a story of why they are the best and it can be overwhelming all the different information you will receive, it pays to study up on hvac and try to decide what type of system you will want.  The larger companies (the ones with TV and radio spots) are actually the most expensive.  Their advertising doesn't really match their price.  For example, one company offers a big percentage off but then their price is the most expensive?   The only way I see that working is they just expect you to pick them  because you saw them on TV.  The companies with the biggest books and most collateral also will be the most expensive and they all have to come to your house..

David was not like this, he told me the price on the phone (of the initial system we were discussing) and explained the situation very accurately without coming out first, when he did come out his visit was efficient and to the point which I appreciated.

"Computer had been acting up for a while but I kept putting off getting it fixed.  After reading all the great reviews, I decided to give N.A.T.S. a call.  So glad I did.   Jim was able to resolve all my problems remotely - no drop off or pick up necessary - so convenient!  I feel like I have a brand new computer, it runs so well and FAST too.  I couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to use his services again.  My only regret is that I didn't call him sooner.

"As requested, I was called when in route to my home. They arrived on time as scheduled. The two man team surveyed the work and stated the job was smaller than usual. Their panel truck had a partially removed sign that was not legible. The team lead asked if I wanted the additional service to sanitize and deodorize the ducts (add $149). I rejected the offer. They were working quickly and I became worried they would break something or damage my home. The attic H/AC unit was inspected and deemed dirty and cleaning would be additional; I turned down the offer. The replacement of the grates required some adjustments as the screws were angled crimped the metal frame. I would recommend that the company send a letter in advance of the cleaning to recommend putting away breakables and detailing the process and offering additional services."

"Trevor and Jon responded to the call the fix our air conditioner that was still blowing, but not cooling. They did a wonderful job and went over and above by cleaning the units and performing a quality check that was over due. We are club members, so the cost of service was very reasonable. Yes, we will use them again."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Sanger, TX

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
