The technician arrived said they were not qualified to work on Combi-tankless boilers; though I had explained over the phone when making the appointment; the Combi boiler I had, and the code e352, that I couldn't maintain heat. The boiler shutting down, and I worked nights; so please don't arrive before noon. Upset, I bleed the system myself and refilled going by the Navien manuals I had. The code e352 was gone. The psi was lower, the boiler didn't shut off. But psi was still a little high above 30. Hurley and David could only reschedule for the next day 12Pm to 4PM. Getting up (sleeping in because I work nights) I had 3 phone calls from 9:30am on, Hurley and David saying they were unable to reach me. That additional frustration got ironed out. A technician was sent. His name is Macauley. He immediately knew I needed an expansion tank and replaced same. The price was high, but his professionalism and communication skills made all the difference. And the psi normal"

Jesse was super smart, friendly, conscientious and knowledgable. he spotted a few things the previous tech didnt (including inefficiencies which were likely costing us money in propane costs). our boiler was super dirty and he got it looking and working as good as new (better actually as it wasn't set up correctly by the original home owner!). he put our mind at ease with his clear articulate explanation of what was needed and how he solved the problem. hopefully we get jesse again for next year's service. looking forward to a warm, cozy, efficient home this winter. thank you Jesse and Beacon!"

"Charter Oak did three separate projects for us and in our estimation, it is one of the best companies with whom we've had the pleasure to work. Felicia, the office manager, is a gem. She assisted us during every phase of the work. She helped ensure that Charter Oak respond promptly to each of our estimate requests, which was important because we live out-of- state. Jeff Harder, company manager, is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable. He explained everything in detail and offered several alternate options for our drainage problem. The company is completely trustworthy. Many of the activities were done in our absence and we felt comfortable opening our house to the employees. When we were present during the projects we were impressed with the workers – they treated the “job” like it was their home. All projects were started and completed in a timely fashion. An illustration of their commitment to their clients follows: We were out of town but my cousin routinely visited the house to ensure its safety. She reported increased moisture in our basement. Being 3,000 miles away we were very concerned and we called Felicia. Jeff immediately responded to the house. We had left the dehumidifier off and the moisture in the basement registered over 95%. Jeff turned on the dehumidifier and set it to automatically empty into the drainage system. Left unattended this could have resulted in a major headache for us. This is just one example which exemplifies Charter Oak’s strong ethical work philosophy."

"I called Oliver Beer of Bauhaus because he had done work for us last fall. He gave me an estimated price that was agreeable. Once he started work he discovered, that like the windows he had installed in our garage last fall, the bathroom needed more work than estimated. Because my husband was going to be released from rehab in a matter of weeks, it was work that needed completion as soon as possible. Oliver worked week-ends and the 4th of July, for a total of 30+ days, removing the old plaster and putting up new wallboard. He got the old tub out and put in a beautiful shower floor; installed a new heating element; ceiling fan/light; a new medicine cabinet, flush and vanity sink. It took him more than 300 hours to give us a showroom quality bath. Incidentally, he painted our living room so that it would be comfortable for my husband to spend most of his time in.
