"I've hired Jim and his team for several projects in the past year, including the reconstruction of an outdoor porch; installing a bathroom fan and running its venting to the outside; fixing up rotten boards and checking the integrity of a second floor porch; and replacing the ceiling, flooring, a window, and areas of the walls in an area of my house that I’m hoping to eventually rent out as a separate unit. As the owner of a multifamily property, I appreciated that Jim has had personal experience himself in managing and owning properties, and therefore had expertise in knowing the types of repairs that would be important and necessary for an owner/landlord. In addition to the time and effort that Shorty, Juan, and the other members of Jim's team put into each project, Jim also recommended and connected me with other contractors, including an electrician whom I've now worked with several times; a gutter installation company; and a masonry contractor who ended up installing a front retaining wall for me. As a final note to Jim's professionalism, when there was a period of extreme cold over the winter that could've caused particular damage to pipes in the upper floors of my house because of their placement near the outside, Jim personally called me to remind me to plug in the heated wire coilings that he had installed around the water pipes on my third floor. The thought hadn't even occurred to me until Jim’s call, and I appreciated that he took the time, even outside of normal working hours, to communicate with me and make that recommendation, since I was able to avoid any kind of burst pipes or other issues. I highly recommend Jim, OHI, and his entire team (again, a shout out to both Juan and Shorty, who were always friendly, helpful, and left the house cleaned after each project). He’s an experienced and knowledgable contractor who can quickly assess problems and offer solutions, and I value and appreciate the work he’s done on my property."

"The entire process was very professional. The sales agent came out in April and gave us an estimate and we signed a contract with him a couple months later. The door and custom transom took approximately 8 weeks, which was a little longer than we anticipated, but it was well worth the wait. My husband and I are both happy. "Jim first built the supports for the porch roof, he then removed the support pillars, the railing, the floor boards.  On inspection, the Beams and Joists were not to spec, he came and discussed replacing the beams and joists, and gave an estimate for the replacement.  On agreement, the lumber was ordered and provided.  The foundations were inspected after the removal of the framework, we had epected the beams and joists to be replaced, but not the foundations which were the original from around 100 years ago.  New foundations were placed with modern materials.  The work took just over two weeks and it was hot ... we only had to deal with Jim the owner, he provided a detail estimate at the start of the job, and detailed estimates for the add ons, all of which were detailed and within the budget.  The original estimate was $13,000, at the end with changes the final cost was just under $17,000 and worth every penny.  I will say we did not have to do anything, Jim worked with the city for permits, we just provided checks as needed.  Kim has followed up on his work letting us know when we need to oil the porch deck and wax the ends.  I would hire Jim for almost any job."
