I had started the heating a few times and briefly smelled gas. "After purchasing a previously owned home built in 2003, we discovered dramatic temperature variances in different parts of the house. The house is 2-story with several first floor projections extending out from under the upper floor including the entire master suite. When we hired an electrician to add can lights in the master bedroom, he had to cut an access in the master closet to access the crawl space over the master suite. He told us there was no blow-in insulation in that area. Terry Taylor of Enerchek spent several hours reviewing our problems at no charge. Apparently insulation was not installed in all of those critical attic spaces including over the entire master suite, because they were closed off during construction. Terry advised us to contact the original builder to see whether he and/or his subcontractor would assist in correcting the glaring design/construction deficiency to protect their reputations. After several unresponsive attempts to allow them to review the problem on site, we hired Enerchek to solve our problems. Terry was very professional and thorough. His crew was polite, friendly and worked hard to solve problems left by the original builder and his subcontractor. We not only solved the original problems, but performed some upgrades in other areas as well. The interior house temperatures are now equalized throughout and we are looking forward to lower heating & cooling bills! Thank you, Terry!"

"The bottom line is that we are happy with the result and with the work that was done by Covenant. However there's room for improving the communication with the customer. The full story: We were shopping for 2 new HVAC systems to replace old units, one of the quotes was given by Covenant. Michael came over to do his due diligence on the existing systems and compose the bid for 2 replacement units. He was very thorough, polite and patient, and answered all our questions, both during the visit and later in email correspondence. We scheduled the replacement of 2 units for a Thursday and the next Friday. Two young men showed up to install the units. They were polite and focused on their job, and by the end of the two days both units were installed. When Michael gave us his bid he said they would not leave before EVERYTHING was checked, however that was not the case. We were also concerned with the noise levels of the new furnaces (similar to our very old units, and one aspect discussed in length with Michael in advance). in addition, we coincidentally found the installers did not install the wet switch that Michael had included in the bid for one of the units. The installers were able to get hold of Michael, and were told to go get one and install it before they leave and that he would come over on Monday to handle the noise issue. Over the weekend I emailed Michael with a list of items I wished him to come back and complete, including a full test report, code compliance report, ensuring the installers covered all the items he had placed in the original bid and do something about the noise. On Monday noon I called Covenant as I have not heard back. Roy, the operations Manager said Michael got my email and would visit that day. A few hours later Michael came over (after a call in advance) with the 2 installers. He explained he was off on Friday and that's why he came over only on Monday. He had my email printed and checked/tested/did/went over everything I had in it. As for the noise, he instructed the team to muffle it with noise absorbing boards they brought with them which did help in dramatically reducing the noise level. To summarize - At the end of the day we got the 2 units delivered as expected. We only wish we had known in advance that Michael was away on Friday and the completion of the work (tests/checks/reports) would be done on Monday. Would I do business with Covenant again? Yes, with emphasizing the importance of communication to keep me informed of the plan in advance."

"I have know for a while that one of my AC systems (heat pump) was on its last leg. However, I managed to get through the summers of 2017 and 2018 with some minor maintenance and tune ups. In 2018, I reached out to Totally Cool and 2 others to solicit quotes. Charlie came out and walked me through ideas and options and we settled on a new system, However, wanting to defer the expense as long as possible I was still able to get through 2018 without issue. Not so much in 2019 as the system died. I immediately reached out to Shelley (May 27) and apprised her of the situation. They mentioned getting to me in a couple of weeks but upon explaining that the old systems was dead they were able to work with their schedule and get me scheduled for May 30 (thank goodness). Given that it had been a year there was a snafu upon arrival due to the air handler no longer fitting the small upstairs closet of my old system. In little over an hour they had identified a another unit and had it onsite. This new unit was more expensive (about $1300) but they honored the original price. I know this was a better unit (more expensive one) because it was quoted to me from one of the other companies in 2018. They were finished by 2 pm despite the snafu and all is going well now. Thank you to Shelley and Nolan (and his installation crew) for stepping up to handle this situation without issue or delay."
