My straightforward, less-than-20-minute fix was quoted at over $600 to snake. This is an outrageous markup for such a basic job. As a former small business owner, I find these tactics troubling. This is a textbook example of bait-and-switch advertising — grabbing attention with a low price, then upselling with inflated charges once the customer is committed. Practices like this harm consumers and tarnish the reputation of the many honest, hardworking service providers in our community. Shame on you, John Moore Services.
