We started with an air conditioner repair - furry little gray critters took up residence over the winter and apparently feasted of the wires. I was shown pictures of the damage; repair options were explained; price for repairs was very reasonable. Unfortunately, along the way we also discovered the circuit board on my furnace was fried, necessitating a new furnace. Although I was not looking forward to that unforeseen expense, I appreciate their thoroughness in locating the problem. "This happened the morning after the Thanksgiving weekend snow storm and I was skeptical that I would be able to get anyone to come out. I called and Igor came out within 45 minutes as promised. He did trouble shooting on several switches and determined that we needed a new control board. He went and got a part within 30 minutes and fixed the problem at a cost lower than quoted. STVU is a Gurnee local business and I highly recommend them for any heating and air conditioning need. They definitely exceeded my expectations!"

"Mr. Ferrell first connected his computer to my computer via internet and worked for quite a few hours trying to determine what exactly was wrong. The next day he continued working from his computer for several hours. He determined he would have to have my desktop tower to complete the repair. He and my son met in Huntsville to exchange the tower. He then cleaned up a lot of what was wrong and reloaded Windows 10. He deleted the D: drive which had way too much memory allotted to it. The tower was returned and I plugged it all back together and it is working better than it did when I first purchased it. I would use him again and I recommend him highly to anyone needing computer updating and/or repair. His work is warrantied and he is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful."

"We had a technician out for maintenance on our old AC unit. He cleaned the unit, added coolant, and added a kit to reduce the unit’s hard starting noise. Two days later, the unit was no longer producing cold air. Another tech came out and explained that the previous repair had compromised the system and all of the coolant had leaked out which would require additional repairs. I’m not sure if that’s true or simply a way to get more money out of us. We moved on and went with another company."
