But then while in their showroom, we saw a quartz countertop that we immediately fell in love with. Danny, the owner came out to our place & measured everything & gave us a quote for only the backsplash. Then another quote for the countertops and new sink/faucet. And then another quote for the countertops and new sink/faucet + backsplash. We found the cost to be reasonable & gave authorization to get started on the whole shebang! Once the materials were in, they were installed in a timely manner. Adam, the tiler did a fantastic job on the backsplash. And IMO, went above & beyond to get the job done correctly! "Terrible. On multiple occasions, services calls resulted in estimates for major component replacement (ie. furnace or coil) while under warranty. The warranty was essentially nullified in the estimate due to the estimated labor cost. In 2014, service experts found a crack in one of my furnace heat exchanger and recommended a new furnace. I directly contacted the manufacturer for part replacement and sought several independent bids for labor on the replacement and was able to significantly reduce the cost. I had to do all of the legwork. Service Experts was only interested in selling a new furnace. In 2018, a coil installed by service experts in 2014 developed a leak. The coil was covered by a 5 year warranty. I was hesitant to even call service experts, based on my previous experience, but I thought I'd give them one more shot due to the warranty. I explained my concerns while scheduling the appointment and was assured that I would not be charged a service fee for warranty work. The technician arrived and visually inspected the unit for less than a minute and retreated to his vehicle. He returned with a recommendation to replace the coil, sighting labor costs (same as last time). I was quoted a price for a new coil, nullifying any potential benefit from the warranty. He went as far as to say that maybe my attic was too hot, causing the crack. I was then charged a service fee for the 60 second visual inspection and estimate for a new coil. I was denied any attempt to speak with a service manager."

R-value measures how well insulation resists heat flow, which directly affects your home's energy efficiency. The higher the R-value, the better the insulation. By calculating the R-value needed for your specific climate and home design, you can choose the right insulation materials and thickness to keep your home comfortable and reduce heating and cooling costs.
You don't need to remove your old insulation before adding new insulation, as long as it's in good condition. Adding new insulation over existing materials can improve your home's energy efficiency. For example, you can install blown-in insulation around fiberglass batts or place rigid insulation over existing layers to enhance the overall R-value. However, if your current insulation is wet, moldy, or damaged, you should remove it to avoid health risks and maintain optimal performance.
Installing insulation typically takes five to twelve hours for batts or boards, and two to five hours for spray foam or blown-in insulation. The exact time depends on the type of material and your home's layout. If you need to remove old insulation, have a larger home, or hard-to-reach areas, the project may take longer.
The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors has said foam board insulation can last up to 100 years if properly installed. Some insulation materials can suffer from water damage or start to sag over many years, thus reducing their insulating ability. Foam boards shouldn't suffer from sagging but have the potential to get damaged. Any broken pieces of foam board can reduce its insulating effectiveness.
