"Swimmingly. I interviewed quite a number of HVAC companies for this job by sending out an RPF (Request for Proposal), and Bob Mamayek was unquestionably the most thorough in his on-site evaluation. Installation crew was fantastic. This is a small shop, and it was a true pleasure to have a team of regular guys just getting the job done. I recommend them without reservation. I almost gave them a B for responsiveness because Bob doesn't do a lot of email, but I realized while typing that this would be completely unfair, for two reasons. A) Bob might not respond to email with email, but he did always respond with a phone call. Frankly, that is better on many counts. B) This ignores the amazing response to my RPF, which was both timely and thorough. So, really, this says more about my email-centric life than Mamayek's responsiveness."

"Matt came out in the beginning of the week to inspect our AC. Before we called we heard loud noises when the AC outside came on and that is why we called. Matt inspected our system and explained that our compressor was leaking freon and that it was down 2 lbs. Being that this AC was installed back in 2009 it was using R22 which is outlawed by the government. So in order to get this fixed we would have had to change the compressor which would have cost us around 600-1000. The other bigger issue was that when the builder installed our AC it was not sized for our home. We were very blessed that we were able to use it for 9 years before it went out. We were overworking the unit being that it was trying to cool a 1550 sq ft. home and it was only a 1.5 ton unit. So Matt proposed replacing our unit. We negotiated a great price and we scheduled them to come out on Friday May 24th. Up till now, Matt was on time, very professional and was careful on making sure his shoes were covered before walking in our home. Matt was also knowledgeable and was easy to understand. At the time my parents were visiting and he was very helpful and explained the situation to my parents. They really appreciated that. Now on Friday, Matt and Dan came out and again showing great care for our home and our time. They installed our system quickly and efficiently. After they completed the work, we noticed a huge difference with our system. The house was cooled in no time. We were very happy that we finally had a system that was appropriately sized for our home reducing our cooling time by almost half. I am so happy that we called Matt to do this work. We never felt that we were taken advantaged or that we didn't have control of all the decisions that needed to be made. I recommend Matt and his team."

"Last year on our way up to our annual 4th of July trip to the Chippewa Flowage, my sister who was house sitting for us called and said the air conditioning was out. I pulled over at the Menard's in Wausau to get a battery for the boat and googled heating and air-conditioning repair in Milwaukee. I called a big name Co. first who wanted me to commit to a $295 house call so I called A-1 and Mike said he could get there by the end of the day to take a look for $95. A couple hours later he called back and said it was the control panel. He could get a new one and replace for about $300 or so or I could get one on Amazon and replace myself for about $100. Long story short, I convinced my sister to turn on all the fans and gut it out until I got back the following weekend. I ordered a new panel on Amazon and was there when I got home. I had a few questions as I was replacing it and Mike could not have been more helpful in guiding me through it. 45 min. later we had cold air and the wife and cats and dogs could not have been happier. Total cost was $107 for the new panel and $95 for the house call and diagnosing the problem on a Saturday evening. Could not have made a better decision than to call A-1. Thanks again Mike. Fast-forward to 2 weeks ago. I woke up on a Saturday morning to my air running all night and would not get below 77 deg. I called Mike and told him the fan outside was running but not cooling the house. He said he had some calls lined up already but would try getting there later in the afternoon. He showed up around 3 or so and diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor. He didn't have any dual capacitors with him but had a few more calls to take care of and thought he could get a hold of one and promised to still have it fixed the same day. At around 7 that night it was about 83 in the house and Mike showed up with the capacitor and had it fixed within a half hour. Total cost $120 for 2 trips on a Saturday including parts and labor. If you need any big ticket items or small repairs done, you CANNOT go wrong by calling these guys. My house is about 20 yrs. old and pretty sure the air and furnace will need replacing in the near future. As I learned from these 2 experiences you can't go wrong with A-1 and I guarantee I'll be calling them when replacements are needed. Thanks again Mike for your help. Tony"

"Sparky was great. He assessed the problems and fixed all of them in an efficient manner. He really knows his stuff. My track lighting was totally screwed up - he had to get up in the attic and run new wires and install a new switch. He knocked it out of the park. 6 months later, all things that he worked on are working great. Highly recommend his services."

"We are very please with the job done.
Horizon came to us on a recommendation from a friend in the Real Estate Business.
Even though we read a terrible F rated Angie's List review on Horizon we selected Horizon based on our friends advice because he had never led us astray before. We are glad we did.
Do you know how it is when you take your car to a mechanic to fix a certain and quot;thingand quot; that is happening and then can't recreate that and quot;thing.and quot; After the job was completed and Al, the electrician was taking us on an inspection tour, we turned on our second dehumidifyer on the other end of the basement only to have the circuit breaker pop---not the one just installed. After reset and turning off the dehumidifyer, the basement light brightned so we think we have finally hit and quot;paydirtand quot; in figuring out what is going on here. We were delighted that a certified electrician got to see this.
He explained that both of our dehumidifyers draw 7.5amps and the circuits are only 15amp so with a few light bulbs burning it can overload when the dehumidifyer kicks on. We will probably have him back to do another dedicated circuit, however, we will first check to see if we can purchase a dehumidifyer that does not pull so many amps. Maybe we are on to something here regarding lowering our electric bill and overfilling the landfill with old dehumidifyers (yes, I have a thing about that)

"Dryer vent cleaning went fast. They expelled/sucked significant lint from the vent. They inspected a house vent and recommended a whole house cleaning for ~$500.
